Movilla House Newtownards, County Down
Posted: 37 minutes ago by Heather McConnell (Daughter of resident)
My father spent 18 months at Movilla House and received care of the highest standard. The staff seemed to pre-empt his needs, great and small. He was treated with utmost respect and dignity. The palliative care he received in the last weeks of his life was superb. The care, attention and indeed love he received from the staff was as if he was their own family member.

My father was cared for with dignity and respect. All my concerns about my dads health were discussed and managed in a way that put me at ease. My father had cancer and dementia and even though he had obvious memory problems he always maintained that he was well looked after and made as comfortable as possible.

Daneside Mews Care Home Northwich, Cheshire
Posted: 46 minutes ago by Kay Fallows (Daughter of resident/service user)
Although my father has not been a resident for more than a month, I am so far very pleased with the service and care he is receiving. I am amazed how dedicated the team are to the residents and attending to their individual needs/feelings. My father has commented on the selection being very limited for the evening meal. Rooms - we have supplied our own curtains and bedding etc to make the room feel homely. They do however look a little tired the rooms and are in need of redecoration and new flooring. The carpet in my fathers room is quite stained and also has a odour of urine.

The Moorings Canvey Island, Essex
Posted: 2 hours ago by Grace Daniels (Daughter)
My mother went to Moorings following a lengthy stay in hospital. My mother retained all her capacity and would be rude to not only me when I visited but the carers and nurses. I cannot fault the care she was given, my mother was a very difficult woman, nothing was ever good enough. I could never please her and staff at the Home learnt that neither will they. However, staff continued to be respectful to her despite her poor behaviour towards them. My mother would regularly shout and swear at staff, on speaking to staff after witnessing these incidents they would be so kind and say that this was due to my mother's frustration of being bed bound. I am hugely indebted to the staff at Moorings as there is no way that I could have cared for my mother who was a very difficult women.

Moundsley Hall Nursing and Residential Home Birmingham, Worcestershire

My husband was a resident in Buckingham House for two months before he passed away in March 2014. The care he was given was excellent also the support from the staff for my son and I was also excellent. He was also treated with lots of respect and dignity. He also said that he was happy here and this was the right place for him at the time. The bedroom he had was very light and airy it was also a very good size.

St Mary's Nursing Centre Luton, Bedfordshire
Posted: 19 hours ago by Kim Dale (Family of Resident)
St. Marys Nursing Home has a new and excellent 'Management Team' who are effecting some wonderful changes - they are working towards creating a home of excellence and building a good solid team at St. Marys - with everyone working towards making this a lovely, safe, humanly warm home for the residents to live within. I am very grateful to the carers who, despite my mum having severe disabilities, see her as the person she is and has always been. They are always very approachable and happy to spend time listening in order to meet mum's needs. There are a new team of Nurses who also are very approachable and are willing to work with us as individuals in making sure that mum's health care needs are met. The domestic team work around mum's needs - keeping her room and the home lovely and knowing mum's daily routines, making sure that mum's routines are not infringed up in anyway. Mum is always happy to see them and they always greet mum with a warm smile. Activities are great and the activities co-ordinator is supported by the carers - making sure that anyone who wishes to engage, in the varied activities, is able to. It is always lovely to see so many of the residents, in their sun hats, in the very pleasant garden at St. Mary's - quite the social space for everyone. Big thanks to the Gardener for his consistency in making the garden look lovely - no matter what time of year. I would definitely recommend that people come and view St. Marys and meet the amazing team that we have there - we are well on our way to being one big happy family - I am proud to say this. Thanks to everyone for putting in positive time, good and well thought out energy and love to all there. I visit very frequently and always come away a happy daughter, knowing that I can speak to them at any time and receive support from everyone there. What a fantastic team of people!

Balcarres Care Home Dundee, Angus
Posted: 20 hours ago by John Cook (Son of resident)
I am a former serviceman and while in the serves we were subject to close inspection of all our environmental facilities and personal equipment, after years of this your eye takes in everything almost at a glance, you eye tells you what to look for and also the standards which are, or were in my case, put to use to pass inspections. I have to say that Balcarres staff, from cleaners, cooks, caters and office staff to the gardener/handyman are, in my opinion, the crew of the flagship of the fleet, easily passing any inspection or inquiry, they are also very well turned out and extremely helpful.

I rate this home very highly. The home provides a safe caring environment for my father who is thriving. The staff are friendly, caring and approachable and having a very good attitude towards the residents. We visit the home to see my father 3 times a week. My brother visits similarly. We visit at different times of the day at random and in over 3 years we have never come away with concerns over the welfare of my father. I would be very pleased to recommend this care home to other families.
