Langley Haven Care Home Slough, Berkshire
When mum needed to go into a care home, we looked at 6 different placers and immediately knew that Langley Haven was the right choice. The staff were all friendly and helpful and all residents seemed happy. Mum has now been in the home for 16 months and we have not been disappointed. She is always clean and well presented and we believe she is being looked after very well. Whether mum chooses to take part or not, the entertainment laid on is very good and we are constantly updated on Facebook. I would not hesitate in recommending Langley Haven to others.

Crofton Court Residential Care Home Blyth, Northumberland
Lovely care home
From the first look around Crofton Court, I knew it was a place my mother would love. The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing is ever too much for them. My mother has been made to feel safe and happy and that has made my life all the better. I would highly recommended this home to anyone who was in a similar situation as myself when looking for a home.

Barchester Glenroyd Blackpool, Lancashire
ABSOLUTLY EXCELLENT
My mother passed away at this home last week and cannot recommend it enough the service goes from strength to strength. All staff from the manager down are excellent. I picked this after visiting lots of homes and it was good but now is without the best you can get. My mother was there 3 years and things have just got better and are now outstanding. At the end of her life the help they give me was beyond excellent and everyone was so compassionate to me my mother and I felt I was with a giant family. I wanted to give special thanks to certain people there but would have to name every member of staff.

Hartwood House Lyndhurst, Hampshire
Excellent care
My mother stayed for 11 days respite care whilst we were away. She was very reluctant to go at all, but within hours she had settled in and was made to feel so welcome that we knew she would be happy and therefore we could relax on our week's holiday. When I went to collect her I had to prise her out! She had had a marvelous time. Not only are the surroundings absolutely beautiful, but the staff are wonderful - she loved them all! They could not have taken more care of her; they were so kind and attentive and she wanted for nothing. Because of this I am taking her for a day every month, both for her benefit and mine so that she remembers how much she loves being there when I need another break. I really cannot recommend Hartwood House highly enough!

St Chamond's Prestatyn, Denbighshire
Provided quality care for my Grandad
My Granddad went into St Chalmonds about 6 months ago. We looked at a few care homes for him and finally settled on St Chalmonds. From the minute me and my mum first walked in, the staff were very friendly, talkative and helpful, even the residents said hello and made small talk with us. My Granddad was fully dependent on the help of others and the level of care and attention provided by the staff was second to none. While we were there we got offered drinks, tea and biscuits. I was very impressed with the level of interaction the staff had with the residents, no one was ever left unattended and out of the few cares homes i've visited in the past i've never seen staff work that hard! The facilities are great, my granddad had a nice bedroom with a tv and his bed was like a proper hospital bed which kept him very comfortable in his last couple of weeks. There is also a nice conservatory overlooking Wales which he and other residents enjoyed looking out of, myself included. The meals looked good, including one time I was there they had a roast dinner, which I could of ate myself. My Granddad required specialist meals and drinks which were always supplied. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone, everything is excellent, next time i'm back in Prestatyn i'll be making sure I go in and personally thank them for everything they done for my Granddad in his last few months! I've put 'good' for the activities due to the fact I wasn't there when they had them, but I do know they had bingo and i'm not too sure what else is on offer, although I am sure there is more than just bingo for the residents. Also they have a hairdresser who comes in who is a really nice woman and I enjoyed talking to her when I was there!

Nazareth House - Lancaster Lancaster, Lancashire
5 star hotel
My mum was in Nazareth house and received the best care possible, her words were a 5 star hotel and the best nursing ever and she was a nurse herself, the staff were wonderful and when it was near the end for mum they cared for her with dignity and love, I would recommend this care home to anybody and when my time comes that I can't look after myself that will be the place for me. Having looked around numerous others in Lancaster we were so glad that we chose Nazareth house for Mum because it was the best.

Swn-y-Gan Swansea
Swn-y-Gan Nursing Home
This is a small very well run nursing home providing a family friendly atmosphere which is very much in evidence as soon as you enter the home. It is not regimented in any way and allows residents the freedom to get up and go to bed when they wish, join in or not with activities etc. Rooms are bright and airy with washing facilities and ample space for clothes and personal possessions. Staff are very polite and caring and are aware of the individual needs of each resident. Mum has been in the home now for nearly 4 years and in that time she has been loved and cared for just like a family member.

Daneside Court Care Home Northwich, Cheshire
A very well managed and staffed care home.
Julie the manageress of Daneside Court is to be commended for her professional and very personal running of this home. My husbands uncle was warmly welcomed and lovingly cared for by the staff. Sadly his stay at Daneside was all too brief but the attention and nursing he received was second to none. Not only was he treated with dignity and respect but all his family were supported in his final days. We are very grateful for their caring attitude.

The Cedars Care Home (Bourne) Bourne, Lincolnshire
Nursing Care and activity staff
The activity staff are brilliant, they run a whole range of activities for the residents to enable all residents to participate. The have quizzes with medals for the winner which residents seem to really enjoy. They have activities which enhance mobility and dexterity that most able bodied residents can participate in with lots of variety. They engage with the local communities by arranging trips to local concert and inviting external agencies to visit, for example the local amateur dramatic company attended recently to commemorate the war. During the summer months residents get the opportunity to be taken out in wheel chairs to the local park or attend band concerts in the memorial gardens neerby, an at Easter time they have had eggs in an incubator hatching into chicks. Residents who are able can take a stroll safely in the grounds. They regularly have a singer to visit too where residents sing along to familiar tunes. The nursing staff are excellent and very competent and the HCAs are trained to a high standard to work along side the registered nurses. Staffing levels are good. Residents are allowed a lie in if they are a bit weary in the morning and nursing activities take their needs into account. For residents that are unable to take part in activities in the lounge area there is a very high attention to detail of their nursing needs with regular holistic assessments being carried out to upgrade the standard of care for their changing nursing needs. Many staff have worked at the home for a long time and Matron is keen to update learning practices to reflect the latest developments in nursing care and ensure patients receive the best care they can. Staffing numbers appear to be excellent, and staff always treat each resident individually. Having experience of many nursing homes throughout the UK I can say hand on heart that this is one of the best and I would recommend it to anyone for their relative.

Boulters Lock Residential Home Maidenhead, Berkshire
A cut above the rest, it's a real Home.
We were recommended to Boulters Lock by a neighbour with a Grandpa there when my father was suddenly taken ill with dementia and we were struggling to find somewhere nice for him. Being a very sociable and lively 85 year old, we didn't want to lose his spirit and needed somewhere full of life. I wanted somewhere where I was comfortable for my mum to visit on her own, if I was not able to go, where she would feel safe and welcome. My Dad has been at Boulters since February and although we've been through some hard times with his condition, Paul and his fantastic team have been amazing. They have shown Dad the greatest respect, they are patient and care so much about his well being, but this extends to Mum and I too. They have all been such a great support to us through this difficult time of adjustment and have become part of our family as Dad has become part of theirs. The home is beautiful, very clean and always full of staff and they're just lovely, going that extra mile. They should be very proud of what they achieve and I highly recommend Boulters Lock. The activities, the lovely garden, the strong feeling of family and the level of care they give my Dad have made this so much easier on all of us. I can't thank them enough xxxx

Elizabeth House Benfleet, Essex
Truly Caring
My Father was recently a resident from 1/5/14 to 22/9/14 and in that short time the staff at Elizabeth House truly did care for him. Nothing was to much trouble, they made him smile with their banter and friendliness. They really did try and try to get him better but in the end his age (91) and his under lying health problems (COPD) got the better of him. I can rest though knowing that in the last 5 months of his life he had someone 24/7 to care and talk and show real interest and concern. THANK YOU!!
