I would like to express my gratitude, respect and admiration for all the staff at Birkenhead Court. My mother recently passed away having been cared for in the most wonderful and sympathetic way by the team at Birkenhead, The home manager and the whole care team at the home demonstrated compassion, kindness, and understanding for many months. They have tended to my mother's every need - they have always made me and my family welcome when they have visited my mum.

My cousin was in the Melrose for 7 years until she passed away suffering from dementia. She was treated with the utmost dignity and respect by all the staff. I cannot speak highly enough about the staff be it the uniformed nursing to the kitchen ladies that prepared the meals. My cousin was always spotlessly clean and didn't want for anything. I was always secure in the fact that she was 100% well cared for.

This nursing home is fortunate in having a truly professional, efficient, caring manager (Mrs Maureen Southern) who ensures that the staff are properly supervised. The nurses and carers quickly made my wife 'feel at home' and always know how she must be looked after. Mrs Southern took a lot of trouble to support me and my children from the outset, which helped us come to terms with my wife's illnesses and her need for full time nursing care. Her assistance with social services/NHS documentation was also invaluable.

My room is lovely! The team here are a really lovely bunch, everyone is so kind and nothing is ever a bother. The dining room is absolutely beautiful and it's lovely to be surrounded by friends. I feel very lucky to be here and hope I will be for a long long time.

We would like to thank all the staff for the care my mothering law received during her short stay in room 35. We can not recommend this care home enough. I would even like to go there when my time comes. may we say a GREAT BIG THANK YOU We have just one complaint which is the fire doors bang which made us jump a couple of times.

My mother has been a resident for 3 years and is now 101. When she first arrived there she wasn't very well, but the care and attention shown made such a difference and she improved greatly. The staff are excellent, very friendly, with a good sense of humour. I can't find anything negative to say and I'm happy my mother is in good hands.

My Father had the happiest of times at The Croft. All the staff were sensitive and had many many laughs with my father who could try the patience of a saint. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Croft the Residential Home which is actually better than a 5 star hotel.

My mother can do nothing for herself. She is well looked after here. The staff are very caring and friendly. In the short time my mother has been here we have been very impressed with her care.

This home is residential and residents therefore are there requiring full support in personal care and lifestyle that is comfortable. This home supports this and provides a homely environment for the residents. I have witnessed kindness and consideration and concern. The staff appear happy to help. Activities are provided. All residents appear relaxed and contented.

My mother is very happy and well looked after at Avalon Park. The staff are extremely friendly and look after her well. The activities and trips out organised by Michele and Tracey are enjoyed by all the residents and their families. I would have no hesitation in recommending Avalon Park as a caring, friendly and safe place for an elderly person.

My wife has been resident at The Poplars for eleven years following a severe stroke. In all this time I have had only one occasion to complain. The matter was quickly and amicably dealt with and the cause eliminated. If you are living in Cleveland and looking for a care home, it is my opinion that you could not do better than choose The Poplars. The staff are not just carers who care, they are your friends, who really care.

My mother is being very well cared for in Four Seasons, soon to be 94 years and needs a lot of care. The manager and deputy are really good and very approachable. The room is lovely and the staff are kind, sometimes on my mums unit I think they could do with extra staff as its a very demanding unit where everybody needs assistance e.g toilet etc, as they cannot help themselves. My uncle was also in the Four Seasons he had Alzheimers and died there, the care was second to none, Dave the deputy and his staff were second to none. So we felt blessed that my mum got a place. I must not forget the office staff who are ever helpful.

My mother has been a resident of Belgar House for 2 1/2 years. Mum has been well looked after and respected with dignity from the minute she entered the home (mum had stroke August 2012). The staff have shown nothing but care, consideration, respect or dignity to both mum and myself when I visit. All medical needs are taken care of for mum, who is mostly bed bound and now with limited speech. Staff are never phased. The staff at the home deserve more than a gold star.

I have never wished to come into a care home, but when I found I could not walk I had to. I can say I had nothing to worry about. Everyone has made me feel at home and very welcome. When my friend's call they even say how clean it is and has no smells.

I have been here a long time and really like it. I am very well looked after. Staff are kind. Food is good and I like my cooked breakfast. I like it when the weather is nice and we can sit outside. I do activities but if I don't wish to join in, I don't have to.

Attitude of staff all without exception are friendly and caring. I have noticed this not just with my husband and myself but with all the residents. Visitors always made welcome no matter what time they call. Choice of food is good. Airy room which is nice and clean. My husband is always clean and fresh, bedding and clothes. Cannot comment on activities as my husband is unable to partake but Birthdays, Easter, Christmas, Valentine Day, Anniversaries etc always celebrated. Atmosphere is lovely.

My mum suffers from a mental health disorder and has spent much of her life in care homes. Mellish House is by far the friendliest, safest home. The staff take very good care of her and she thrives here. The staff who arrange activities always keep her engaged and she has developed strong bonds with many of the kind and patient staff.
