My mother is suffering from PSP. In the time she's been at Brooklyn House she has had the very best of attention and care. Nothing is any trouble for the staff in meeting the needs of residents. Her personal hygiene and appearance were always of the most importance to my mum and now when it is so difficult for her to talk, the staff know her well enough and she always appears clean and smart. As she would be herself. I cant speak highly enough of every member of staff at Brooklyn. They do what I can't, but above all they really respect and care for my mum when I'm not there. I know I can contact them day or night and that gives me reassurance too. They quite simply are outstanding and I feel blessed I found this home so close to mine.

My dad had his world turned upside down in a month, lost his wife of 64 years and had to move out of his home of 30 years because he could not look after himself. He tried one home then he moved to Silver Springs after three weeks. You could not compare the two, the light, airy rooms, the friendly staff, the respect he was given and least of all he can have ice cream at every meal! At the other home this was a no no unless on the menu that day. It took six months but then he referred to it as "my home". He feels respected by staff, residents and their families and every thing is done to make him feel like this, for me knowing he is happy and cared for means so much.

My husband went into the care home for two weeks respite January 2016. We were both I think rather apprehensive of this first experience, particularly myself as in the second week I would be staying with one of my sons in Scotland (miles away) but we do have a wonderful daughter who said if dads not happy I shall take him out and he can stay with us, however, all went well and he settled down with a blip on the day I flew, but with a very caring staff and regular visits from our family he soon appeared to be happy and relaxed. What ever post was held by the team they all showed care and understanding in a very genuine way and if necessary in the future I would never look for any other home for him. First class and wonderful.

I visit the home as often as I can - I always find it to be welcoming, friendly, homely and happy. I am always greeted warmly and all the residents and staff appear content, relaxed and enjoying life. This home is well run and efficient - but doesn't lose the fact this is the residents home - one which they have input into in how they wish to live and have a quality of life.

I have found the staff easy to talk to and the amount of care is very good. I have felt safe, and can confide in staff with any worries or concerns in a confidential way. My medication is managed well and I find my diet full of variety and I am provided with plenty of choice.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. My mother has had various falls and when I spoke to the management to have a bed/mat sensor in her room, which they done straight away after I spoke to them. Medical care has sometimes been delayed i.e medication but I have been advised this is because of doctors or chemist.

The staff at Featherton House were so lovely and welcoming to me and my sister who volunteered over the Christmas period. We really enjoyed getting to know them and all the residents. Over the course of our volunteering we sang Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer all across the house with some of the residents and joined them in a delicious Christmas lunch. There is always lots going on with activities and cooking and the mood is always very jolly at Featherton House and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Could not praise this nursing home enough. Every member of staff are lovely, nothing is ever any trouble for them. They are very kind and caring people. My mum has been bedridden since Sept 2015 and they have now managed to get her out of bed and into the lounge . It was amazing to see a glimmer of her old self. If you was considering this nursing home for a family member it is excellent . I have been into a lot of nursing/care home and finally feel that my mum is getting looked after 100%.

Alzheimer's diagnosis. My wife was transferred to Parkview in September 2015 from respite. From day one the carers had a very difficult period to get my wife to settle, she wouldn't eat, allow personal care or interact with other residents. Due to the dedicated caring team at Parkview she is now settled in, eating the in house excellent meals. Allows carers to tend to her personal care and she now interacts with other residents. Nearly every day social event are arranged by their activities team, the manager and her team should be very proud.

I have visited several care homes and been a resident in two. I required respite care for two weeks and from my visit here I chose Crabwall Hall. It came up to all my expectations so much so that I am staying on for another week. I have found staff friendly and helpful. If I have any queries or worries about my mothers health or care they are always happy to discuss with me what is needed to rectify any problems and answers my questions. My mother has been bedridden for more than 1 and half years but never had a pressure sore, has regular visits from doctor, district nurses and dietician. The staff throw themselves into all holiday celebrations for the enjoyment of the residents (Christmas, Easter, Valentines day etc.) and always do their best for them.

Mum is cared for and well presented. Mum is sometimes difficult and yet staff deal with her with humour and kindness. She is happy there but cannot actually tell us what she does - due to the dementia! Her room is well cared for and she is dressed in her own clean clothes. She can be difficult and staff appreciate this and share the information with us, they let us know when there have been issues, and what these issue are. Food is good and as a visitor I have been offered lunch when I arrived at an inopportune moment. Mum is keen to come out for a while and have a ride around but actually wants to go back there if we bring her to our house. Dementia is dreadful and the team at Beech House do their very best to make it as painless as possible.

Over many years my lovely mum attended day care facilities at Acacia Care Home three days a week to give my father some respite time and mum to have a time for her with specialists that could stimulate and care for her.

My mum's health deteriorated significantly from October 2015 after a stroke. She had several hospital admissions latterly resulting in the need for end of life care in a nursing environment. My father could not manage her care at home. When Acacia was mentioned we visited. My father already knew staff there. As soon as we arrived we felt welcomed and cared for. My father decided mum should come to Acacia for her final days.

The room chosen was lovely and bright, perfect for care giving without being too clinical. She had excellent care with Staff being attentive to all her needs and ours.

My mum left us this last week. The whole family is very happy she spent those last important few days at Acacia. We cannot thank them enough for all their care and support.

My mother entered Hope Green in June 2015 after a spell in hospital. She settled in very quickly and soon established a friendly relationship with the staff. The quality of care she received was excellent and I found them sympathetic, cheerful and helpful. In her last illness the staff checked on her frequently and made 100% effort to see that her last few days were as comfortable as possible.
Thank you the the Manager and all the staff for making my mum's last few months relaxed and enjoyable. I must say that she particularly relished the 'full English' served in her room every morning saying it set her up for the day!

Our father was resident for the last two years of his life - we were extremely impressed with the management by the Matron and her nursing colleagues. Not only were the nurses excellent at managing very challenging behaviour in a humane and compassionate way, but they always supported the carers to work as a team, especially in crises, as well as keeping us informed. Dad's individual care needs were met, monitored and adapted throughout his stay. In addition to the qualities stated above the Matron's attention to detail, her hands on approach and 'finger on the pulse' were key in being so effective.
Our experience was that the nursing staff went the extra mile to think through his individual needs and called on external expertise at every stage to check if any extra support would help. All the staff were always professional, respectful, kind, warm, welcoming and caring even when they were very busy - this was the ethos emanating from the nurse manager. Many of the residents have complex needs and staff are always busy.
Although Dad wasn't able to participate in group activities, efforts were made to give him one-to-one attention which he appreciated.
We have been involved with a number of nursing homes over the past six years and have learnt not to judge the quality of a home on facilities such as en-suite bathrooms, style of decor (carpets and soft furnishings) - what is important is the quality of the care which is determined by the experience, integrity, ability and professionalism of the nurse manager and her team. As well as these features, the ability to retain experienced mature carers and to recruit and nurture newer carers was crucial in Dad's care. No agency staff were employed which again, was crucial for continuity in the high-quality care. We will always be very grateful for the support we received at this difficult time and the excellent end of life care our father received.

My father was admitted to Alexandra Grange at short notice on 27th December as his Parkinson's dementia was making it impossible for him to be cared for at home. The staff at the home responded very well given the short notice that they had before admitting him and they have done all that they can to make him comfortable and settled. They encourage him to socialise with the other residents and to join in activities. Whenever I have visited he has been mostly happy and is obviously well cared for.

In that time I have been very impressed with the level of care given to him and to all other residents. The staff are kind, respectful and caring in the way in which they deal with people. They have an attitude of cheerful patience when dealing with and at time difficult and demanding residents which is particularly admirable. Since I am no longer able to care for my husband myself, at home, Chapel House is the next best option. I would not wish him to be elsewhere at this time in his life.
