The Lawns Leamington Spa, Warwickshire
Posted: 14 hours ago by George William B (Local neighborhood resident)
The manager Paul organised for the residents and local residents from the community to attend the musical evening which was a singer impersonating Neil Diamond and Elvis Presley. It turned out to be very good and a enjoyable time was had by all of us. The Lawns residents loved it and the staff were excellent. We look forward to future events which we hope to be invited to.

My mum has been in Regency House for 18 months. The staff are very kind and the home is clean and well maintained. My mum is very happy here and we are delighted with the care she is given. As a specialist nurse I visit lots of nursing/residential homes and the Regency is the best I have seen.

Burford House Nursing Home Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire
Posted: 17 hours ago by Rev Sue Lawler (daughter of resident)
We visited quite a few nursing homes in the area before settling on Burford House, and I am very sure that we made the best decision. Mum settled down well due to the care and attention of the staff (and regular visits from family). I believe that the staff show Mum great respect and maintain her dignity - which is so important, of course. The effects of Mum's stroke were devastating but I am pleased to say that there has been significant improvement in her health since being at Burford. Mum always looks well-groomed, having her hair done and nails painted regularly - she looks younger than she has done in years! Mum doesn't always want to join in activities and the staff respect her wishes. When she does join in I think she enjoys it - particularly the singing. Mum enjoys the food and the staff have helped Mum whilst she needed a PEG feeding regime, and later when pureed food was necessary. Reena is a very good manager who always seems to be on top of things and this inspires confidence. The staff seem to be happy in their work and that says a lot too. I can say that I am very, very pleased with the care Mum receives, and I would thoroughly recommend Burford House.

Lennox House London
Posted: 20 hours ago by Bridget Karanikis (Daughter of resident)
Lennox house is an excellent residential home for loved ones who unfortunately are not longer able to take care of themselves. Florence the manageress is doing a splendid job. So many improvements have taken place since she arrived. outings are arranged, parties, beauty and occupational therapy, entertainments. Florence is always open to suggestions from relations. She and her staff show immense concern and compassion towards the residents. Dealing with sometimes difficult and emotional situations. Of course many relatives would like to be able to care for their loved ones themselves. But regretfully it's not always possible. Lennox house and it's dedicated staff give comfort and peace of mind to the relatives of their residents. Yours faithfully Bridget Patricia Karanikis

Burford House Nursing Home Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire
Posted: 16 Jun 2013 by Janet Robinson (Daughter of resident)
My mother had a severe stroke and spent four months in hospital. It became clear that she would not be able to return home and live independently so the exhaustive search for a suitable nursing home began. Although Burford House is not a large building or new and purpose built I am delighted that we found it and placed Mum there. The whole atmosphere and ethos is friendly and welcoming. My mother is by nature reserved and shy but the friendly and attentive staff helped her to settle as quickly as possible. During the last few months she has had several hospital admissions which the home managed well. On her return the staff have welcomed her back as one of the Burford family and that has meant a great deal to her. Although Mum does not necessarily join in the weekly activities on offer she enjoys many of the events that take place such as visiting singers and family/resident occasions arranged by the home. When she had her birthday the staff were really helpful in arranging sandwiches, a cake and a room for the family gathering. Mum's dignity is important to the staff and my observation is that all residents are treated with compassion, affection and respect. Residents are able to ring if they need assistance between staff pop-in visits and calls are answered promptly and willingly. The manager has a caring and compassionate attitude which sets the tone for the home. She is approachable and I have always been able to talk to her about any concerns I have. I have found her cooperative and committed to doing the best for the residents. She welcomes the input of relatives. As the home manager she is aware that achieving excellence is an ongoing process and not a static state. There is no doubt that the warmth and compassion at Burford more than makes up for the lack of en suites in some of the rooms. On a final note there is a lovely garden and a fish pond which has proved a great source of interest to Mum especially when she's been around at the right time to feed the fish!

Business Removals Manchester Altrincham, Cheshire
Posted: 14 Jun 2013 by Zen Zilliano (service user)
10 out of 10 I used business removals Manchester to move house from Stockport to Oldham I found the service to be really good value for money, they charged me £40 per hour for 2 men and a big van and only took 7 hours ended up costing me only £280 which was half the cost of some other quotes I got on line.

Rose Villa Southampton, Hampshire
Posted: 14 Jun 2013 by Jonquil Mitchell (daughter of resident)
My mum has lived here for 2 years. She was extremely anxious and fearful at home but with the loving support of Rose Villa I have got my mum back. She's relaxed and happy most of the time. They always make visitors welcome and some of Mum's old friends pop in for lunch or a coffee like they used to when she was at home. It's not home, but it's as near to home as we can manage for someone who needs as much care as Mum does. I'd like to thank them all very much. They do a grand job.

The Red House Ashtead, Surrey
Posted: 14 Jun 2013 by Sue Peters (Power of Attorney for Parents -Residents)
Both my parents are residents at the Red House -- the staff are friendly & helpful to both my parents & to those who visit them. The staff listen to our concerns & help where possible. When my father had to go into hospital a member of the staff went with him & stayed until I arrived at the hospital so he didn't feel alone. The glass of sherry goes down well each lunch time & both my parents enjoy the meals.

The level of care and attention shown to the residents of Alexandra Grange is second to none and that care is not superficial. When talking to the staff you become aware that they feel deeply for the people they look after and that continues even when they are not on duty. They are also very attentive and sympathetic to relatives. The premises are first class and well maintained by staff who also treat the residents with care and respect.

Oakdale Residential Home Benfleet, Essex

My husband has been a resident at Oakdale for the last seven months. I feel the care and attention he has received during this time has been second to none and something I could no longer do at home. The staff are hard working and caring and the quality of the food provided is excellent and the facilities are outstanding. Overall I feel Oakdale provides exactly what my husband and other sufferers of dementia require.

The Green Nursing Home Birmingham, West Midlands
Posted: 14 Jun 2013 by Marie (Wife of resident)
My husband recently spent a short time with you before his death and was made so welcome and comfortable from the moment he arrived. There was always someone to encourage him to eat and drink within his capabilities and to look after his complex needs. We as a family were given continuous help and support by your carers, nursing staff, management, chef and all of the support team and we can only say a big thank you. We felt as though you all cared. Thank you. It was also a pleasure to see that the staff seemed genuinely happy to work with each other and be at work- a credit to the management. I dont think we could have found a better nursing home.

The Yachtsman Fleetwood, Lancashire

I can easily recommend The Yachtsman, due to the obvious contentment of my Auntie and of the attentiveness of staff to the other residents which I observed during my visits. I have had another Aunt in another care home which was noticeably deficient by comparison. The intention of the staff to keep the residents happy and busy is the key differentiation.

Craghall Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear
Posted: 14 Jun 2013 by Allan M (Son of resident)
My mother has been a resident at Craghall for five years. During that time she has been outstandingly well looked after. All of the staff consistently demonstrate very caring behaviour and never fail to go the extra mile to ensure her comfort and well being. Craghall is very well appointed and kept extremely clean. She has a spacious room with en-suite facilities and a view of the large and well kept garden. There is an extensive programme of activities and events. I am confident that Cragnall is one of the best residential homes in the North East.
