L'Hermitage Jersey
Posted: 24 May 2013 by Irene E (Daughter of resident)
My mother has been a resident at L'Hermitage for six months. She is happy and is being looked after well, which is a relief for me and my sisters. When the weather is warmer, we can take her for a walk in the grounds, which are lovely.

Birdston Day Care Glasgow, Dunbartonshire
Posted: 24 May 2013 by Mary Frew (Service User)
I find the people very pleasant, Especially the staff. Some of my fellow service users are more chatty than others and sometimes sing too which is good to hear. The meals are also very nice. It gets me out of the house for a while, and its great that the carers come and collect me.

Home is lovely, I come in every day and have my dinner. My daughter and granddaughter used to work here and even though they don't work here anymore I still enjoy coming in because it's so friendly and the food is amazing. All home made. I would definitely recommend this home and wouldn't mind stopping here myself.

Woodside Nursing Home Bath, Bath & North East Somerset
Posted: 24 May 2013 by Gillian W (Daughter of resident)
My mother was cared for at Woodside, for two and a half weeks, until she died. She was treated with tenderness, compassion, and dignity, though she was confused sometimes, and her behaviour could be difficult. The staff were outstanding, so polite and communicative, always greeting me on my daily visits, and keeping me up to date with her needs and her condition. I felt I could help with her care too. The home is custom built, clean and bright, and all the rooms are en-suite, ensuring privacy. The Manager is a nurse himself, and is seen on the wards each day. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. There is a good continuity of care, with nurse team leaders who supervise well trained and caring health care assistants. I was supplied with frequent cups of tea, and appreciated the courtesy and empathy of all the staff.

Pelham Grove Care Home Liverpool, Merseyside
Posted: 24 May 2013 by Sue Barrett (Daughter)
This care home has improved my dad's life 100%. Before coming here he lived alone, he could not look after himself a lot of pressure was on the family and we worried about him. New we know he is looked after well. Dad tells me how good the food is, he often goes out for lunch, he likes the staff all have a great professionalism, good humour and great rapport with all who live in this care home.

Barchester Dudwell St Mary Care Home Etchingham, East Sussex
Posted: 24 May 2013 by Patricia R (Daughter of resident)
My reasons for recommendations are based on my personal observation and frequent visiting to my father. Staff are always pleasant and helpful to me and will always talk to ma about my father. There is a friendly atmosphere at St Marys and a sense of caring. Communication about any problems is very good. The home is very clean and bright compared with other care homes.

Care home is an understatement. Wonderful people look after my father. Nothing is ever too much trouble. They arranged an event on Saturday the 18th May when he was presented his veterans medal by the mayor of Chorley. It was a wonderful day arranged completely by Louise, Ivy and the rest of the staff.

My mother has Dementia and is not capable of expressing her own needs. The management and staff at the home have ensured she is well looked after in a very nice environment, her dignity respected. She is cheerful and happy, well fed and sensibly looked after. Visits are encouraged, staff open and helpful. It is a huge relief to have her there in a pleasant well managed environment.
