Coppice Lea Care Home with Nursing Redhill, Surrey
Posted: 10 minutes ago by Vera J (Close friend of resident)
I have a dear friend who has dementia and took up residence in early May. It was a most distressing time for her and her family. She has settled so happily and this can only be due to the professional and caring way that she has been treated. I have seen many care homes and this one is wonderful.

Avondale Nursing Home in Cheltenham Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Posted: 17 minutes ago by Wendy D (Daughter of resident)
My mother has been a resident at Avondale since March 2012. She moved there, aged 91, in a state of shock and high anxiety following a fall and hip operation. An unhappy period of rehabilitation in a local hospital and short period at home which proved impossible for her to sustain even with a care package. I was and still am amazed at the level of care and homely friendliness at Avondale administered by all the staff, nurses, carers, cooks, cleaners, maintenance staff, activities staff and the manager herself. Not only to my mother but to me and other family members. In short I cannot recommend this nursing home highly enough and encourage anyone who wants a family environment combined with high standards of nursing care for a loved one, to consider it seriously.

Coppice Court Nursing Centre Eastbourne, East Sussex
Posted: 46 minutes ago by Ian C (Son of resident)
My mother has been a resident for 2 1/2 years. In this time the majority of the staff employed on her arrival still remain. In my opinion this is an indicator that it is, in the main, a home well run, and therefore a pleasant and happy place to work. Staff working in this way is is clearly an advantage for residents living in such an environment. The all round high standard is testament to this. If I was to have to highlight any downside it would be a lack of lounge facilities, those existing often used for storing. However I suspect this is a problem beyond the staffs ability to rectify.

Washington Lodge Care Home Washington, Tyne & Wear

There are no words to express the gratitude we feel for the care given to our Mam in her last few months. In a perfect world we would have tried to care for her at home, but the time spent at the lodge was made easier because of the wonderful staff and the feeling of Mam being with extended family.

Glebe Care Centre Newtownabbey, County Antrim
Posted: 1 hour ago by Norma D (Wife of resident)
My husband has been a resident in Glebe Care Centre this past 2 years. He has been cared for to a very high standard, Glebe staff are just brilliant. The staff from the odd job man to the care manager are helpful, friendly and caring. The rooms are kept exceptionally clean. The food looks very good. The nursing staff have looked after Adrian's health both mentally and physically better than I ever could. I would highly recommend Glebe Care Centre and have done so.

The Summers West Molesey, Surrey
Posted: 1 hour ago by John S (Son of Resident)
I spent quite a long time trying to find the right place for my mother who has mid level dementia. Many of the places I visited I know as soon as I walked in were not for me or mum. However as soon as I got in to The Summers it felt right and the people there were the icing on the cake. Clean, new modern but crutially the right people.

Menwinnion Country House Care Home Penzance, Cornwall
Posted: 1 hour ago by Michelle W (Daughter of Respite Resdient)
My Mum became physically poorly with a UTI whilst at home, so she was admitted to Menwinnion Care Home for three weeks. My mum was agitated when she first arrived as she has vascular dementia and she was disorientated, the staff treated my mum with excellent care, and dignity at all times. They actually noticed my mum had sore groins and under her stomach area (the carers she had at home were neglecting her not washing, creaming her) I would recommend Menwinnion to anyone.

Barchester Newington Court Care Home Sittingbourne, Kent

I visited on the National Care Home Open Day and was met by a lovely warm welcome. The residents were enjoying cocktails and canapés and enjoying a lovely Hollywood themed afternoon. I have been back to the home since and the same warm atmosphere radiated through. I would happily place a loved one at Newington Court.

The Shrubbery Rushden, Northamptonshire
Posted: 18 hours ago by Anthony Fraser (Nephew of Mrs J Barrell)
The aunt has been in three care homes in the past ten years, and has been in The Shrubbery for 8 months. My wife also has professional experience of running and inspecting care homes. In our opinion, The Shrubbery is comparable with the best both in terms of care quality and facilities for the confused elderly. Management and both visible and readily approachable and take-up any points raised in a professional manner. Care procedures are well documented and appear to be properly followed by the staff. The home seems to be well staffed and run in an efficient yet kindly manner. The house appears clean and free from unpleasant odours and the gardens are maintained to a very high standard. In short, both management and staff appear to go the extra mile for their residents to make their life as interesting and comfortable as possible in a most kindly and caring manner. We can unreservedly recommend The Shrubbery.

Ashwood Nursing Home Spalding, Lincolnshire
Posted: 19 hours ago by Gaynor T (Daughter of Resident)
Ashwood is what every care/nursing home should be. A happy friendly atmosphere, where residents and their families are welcomed and invited to become involved in the activities. The staff are caring and interested and nothing is too much trouble. Standard of decor is excellent and residents can bring favorite items from home to personalise their room. When I am away my mother is in safe, caring hands and that I will be contacted if necessary.

My mother has lewy body dementia with Parkinson's disease, she is 89 years old. She has been in Ashwood since May 2014. I looked at several in the area and chose Ashwood, the care my mum is getting is fantastic, what wonderful people who do really go the extra mile for the residents.
