Water Royd House Nursing Home Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Posted: 1 hour ago by Carole Conway (Daughter of resident)
The team at this nursing home deserve an accolade for professional, caring, empathy and support to both residents and friends/family with residents approaching end of life. Having gone through E O L with my auntie in January 2011, and having seen the excellent palliative care provided, I had no hesitation in choosing Water Royd House for my mum.

Falstone Court & Manor Care Home Sunderland, Tyne & Wear
Posted: 1 hour ago by Robert Todd (Son of resident)
Due to failing health we were forced to place our mother in a 24 hour nursing facility. Forget about the horror stories you read about in the press. In Falstone Manor the staff and facilities are second to none. From first entering the home the staff have provided not only professional but loving care, treating residents with dignity and kindness. We would offer special thanks to the wonderful staff on the second floor.

Callands Care Home Warrington, Cheshire
Posted: 1 hour ago by Philip Kirchin (Son of resident)
Our mum came to Callands after spending 14 weeks in Warrington Hospital. She had a massive stroke on the 17th Aug 2012. Mum arrived at H.C. One in a desperate state and our family were distraught. The care here has completely turned our mum around, her well being has improved dramatically. The care has been outstanding.

Shaftesbury House Care Home Ipswich, Suffolk
Posted: 2 hours ago by Janet P (Daughter of resident)
Mum was poorly when she entered Shaftesbury House, her dementia seemed to be taking over and she was losing weight. She is now settled and happy and really appreciated the caring she is receiving. Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff and she is much more engaged and responsive and is taking part in the activities. We are so pleased with this home and its staff, that we have recommended it to friends, who have placed a relative there.

Coxhill Manor Woking, Surrey
Posted: 4 hours ago by Margaret Simmons (Daughter of resident)
Mum has been a resident of Coxhill for over six months now. I really cannot fault the care mum is receiving. The staff work so hard to make sure mum keeps her dignity. So important. The resident cat Hodge also helps mum to feel that Coxhill is home. Thank you Coxhill for making my mum's day as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Mum enjoys the company of the friends she has made. So much better than sitting at home on her own waiting for people to break up the loneliness she was suffering with.

Knowle Park Cranleigh, Surrey
Posted: 4 hours ago by Nick P (Son of resident)
To reaffirm my feelings after over two years experience with my mother being resident. The staff are very good and show care and patience. The building is lovely and so much more 'homely' than the modern care homes. Recent newcomer to the running of entertainment is excellent showing great imagination to keeping people happy. Combine all with good food and the terrific Netra. Why say more?

Chadwell House Care Home Romford, London
Posted: 5 hours ago by Doug R. (Son of resident)
Our mum (in her 90s) has been a resident in the home for six and a half years. For the past several months, she has been largely bed-bound, having negotiated various infections.
Throughout this stressful period (and before!) the demonstration of conscientious care to ensure her comfort and security - under very trying circumstances - has been exemplary and heart warming. We are indebted to the manager, carers and staff alike. They have all done mum (and us) proud.

Abercorn House Camberley, Hampshire
Posted: 5 hours ago by Jacqueline Spencer (Niece of resident)
My aunt has been at Abercorn House care home for 4 months now and is very happy here. The staff are very attentive and look after my aunt's well-being extremely well. They are always bright and cheery and my aunt says they are always quick to answer her bell. There is always a choice of meals everyday and she always tells me if she particularly enjoys them. I know she would tell me if she had any complaints and certainly has not had any. On the whole my aunt and her family are very pleased she has settled in so well.

I quite like living here, I like the staff, and the outlay of the home, its easy to find where you are going. I have made some friends though I have to wait for one of them in the morning as she likes a long lie. There is plenty to do especially when Louise the Activities Co-ordinator comes in.
