Review of Sharnbrook House, Bedford, Bedfordshire by Helen (Daughter of resident)
Monday 10 June 2013
After suffering a major stroke, my mother moved to Sharnbrook House 16 years ago. She is now very frail and totally dependant on others and continues to receive outstanding care in what she regards as her own home. The house and gardens are truly lovely, and it is in the centre of a village which has good amenities. It is a really lively and welcoming place with an excellent weekly time-table of varied activities. The staff are wonderful, friendly and supportive of families at times of need. My sister and I both live some distance from Sharnbrook and it has therefore been very important to us to have complete trust in the way that our mother is looked after. I cannot recommend Shanbrook highly enough. We are so lucky to have found somewhere so exceptional. This is an opportunity for me to say thank you to all the lovely people I have met who make visiting such a pleasure and who have ensured that Mum has enjoyed a quality of life over the years beyond our expectations at the outset, given her disabilities. We are looking forward to celebrating her 93rd birthday in August.

Review of Sharnbrook House, Bedford, Bedfordshire by jm2013 (Granddaughter of resident)

I would like to mention how special and exceptional this home has been for my grandmother. Genuine care shines through this house set in beautiful surroundings, full of smiling happy faces... Carers and residents (even the family cat!). Not enough credit is ever given to those working in this field and I would like to thank those that gave such great and considerate companionship to my grandma. Can not recommended this home enough. I have experienced working in care homes myself and can not fault this one as a relative on the outside looking in.

Review of Sharnbrook House, Bedford, Bedfordshire by Laurie Moore (Son of Resident)
Sunday 7 April 2013
A wonderful welcoming, big, open and safe environment. For our mum it was a brand new chapter in her life; an immediate whole community of friendly faces and genuine loving care. It provided an end to the loneliness she felt after the onset of Alzheimer's, the passing of our father and then of her closest friend. Mum was comfortable, safe, carefully dressed and groomed each day and really well fed! Sharnbrook House is a true "stately home": A family of happy gentle folk. The Home's staff became her friends and our friends too. We have nothing but the highest praise for each and every one of them. It's really well managed with good communication with residents and relatives; with lots of well planned and meaningful activities each day. The House has one of the most beautiful gardens in North Bedfordshire with wonderful and varied walks. Oh! and there's always a cup of tea in the pot! AAA 5*+ Care Home.
