Review of Ambleside Care Home, Luton, Bedfordshire by Bob Young (Nephew of a resident.)
Saturday 21 July 2012
My uncle has lived at Ambleside for eight years now. He is very happily settled there - it's his home and he knows all the staff and fellow residents well. Whilst his mobility has slowed down lately, he is on the ball in all other respects and is very observant and able to speak his mind. So although I visit him regularly, he is able to tell me about life at Ambleside. Besides, the staff there also keep me regularly informed about his wellbeing. We are delighted with the level of care that he receives. The facilities are good, there is a friendly air about the place and the food and entertainment/activities are most appropriate. Importantly, my uncle's health is closely monitored - any concerns are well managed. So, all in all, I have no hesitation in recommending Ambleside.

Review of Ambleside Care Home, Luton, Bedfordshire by Claire Lenihan (Daughter of recently deceased resident)
Saturday 14 July 2012
My mother has been a long term resident at Ambleside, suffering from Alzheimer's. She entered the home in 1997 and was there until her death in January 2012. As a family we found Ambleside to be welcoming and homely. The staff were always cheerful, friendly and dedicated to the residents in their care. My mother was always treated as an individual, with respect and dignity despite being unable to express her wishes in the conventional way. She was bed bound for several years but never developed a bed sore due to the excellent care and attention she received. The communication between the home and family members was excellent, we were always kept well informed and very involved with decision making, as we were her advocates. The staff showed genuine affection towards my mother and went above and beyond the call of duty on many occasions ensuring she received all the professional help and out of hour’s medication that she needed, on occasions. Going to Ambleside became a major part of our family life for many years. We were very happy with the service the proprietor and staff provided. We still call in occasionally for a chat and to see the other residents. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ambleside.
