Tickford Abbey is a most impressive building with a remarkable history dating back to medieval times and is set in magnificent grounds on the banks of the River Ouse. The home offers the ideal setting for enjoying peace and relaxation. It is a large, late Victorian House, built on the site of a former monastery on the outskirts of Newport Pagnell. Tickford Abbey has a choice of sitting rooms, with different views of the grounds, including a television room and a very popular conservatory. There is currently accommodation for 28 residents, each having their own private bed-sitting room. Most of these are fitted with en-suite facilities; many have been renovated in the last year. Each room is fully furnished and carpeted to a high standard and has plenty of space for residents' favourite furniture, pictures and personal effects. The bed-sitting rooms are also equipped with a call bell system, TV point, easily accessible light switches and plug sockets. In addition, there are a number of assisted bathrooms/shower rooms and there is a passenger lift with access to all floors. The Chef and his team are committed to providing interesting and nutritious meals. They always offer a wide choice of dishes and the menus are reviewed regularly and can cater for personal favourites and special or medical diets. A highly dedicated, qualified and experienced team of managers and staff ensure that each person is given the very best standard of care around the clock. Residents are treated with kindness and understanding and are encouraged to lead as full and independent a life as possible. Individual cultural and religious needs are respected. Social activities are organised for residents, and they are at liberty to participate in these or not; regular outings and entertainment are also arranged. |
