The first residents moved into the 60 bed Moat House in autumn 2011 from the old care home of the same name on the site. The purpose built care home is divided into four suites offering residents the residential, care or dementia support they require in an intimate atmosphere.

The rooms are all private with en suites, while communal areas are designed to offer comfort and luxury.

The home has a dedicated activities coordinator who works with residents to plan a calendar of events. These include coffee mornings, quizzes, pamper sessions, craft activities and performances by visiting schools, groups and speakers.

Building work is set to start in autumn 2012 on developing 26 privately-owned apartments.
