Residents at Cheybassa Lodge can live in a large house by the seafront at Hayling Island with views of the beach and the Isle of Wight.

A large garden, newly-laid patio and paved inner courtyard garden also provide a beautiful, restful place for residents to relax in out of the prevailing south-westerly wind.

All accommodation is on the ground floor and bedrooms have en-suite facilities. All bedrooms have been upgraded to receive digital TV.

Nutritious, well-balanced meals are prepared for residents.   

Regular activities are arranged including trips out via a mini-bus, visits from entertainers and musicians, quizzes, craft sessions and armchair 'keep-fit' exercises.

There are also shopping walks to the village, beach walks, massage sessions, aromatherapy and coffee mornings at a local church.

The staff at Cheybassa Lodge have been helpful from the start. There is good communication and I feel I have been kept well informed. The home has a small, friendly feel to it and my father is settling in well. All meals look so good and are made with fresh ingredients.

Extremely well run, small private care home with staff that are friendly, cheerful and caring. Mum has a lovely, large room with views over the sea at a very reasonable price and has settled well in only a few weeks.

This residential home is what it says, a home. The staff are warm and friendly, giving a high standard of care, with interesting activities, good food and comfortable rooms. The residents can enjoy their latter years. Families and friends visiting are always made welcome. their comments are well received and if needed acted on.

The current managers took over 10 days before my father died. Their management, behaviour, care and sensitivity at this time was exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble and all help and support possible was given: doctor needs/support to stay here at Cheybassa etc. My coping with all the happening was enormously helped. My late father was very happy here. (17 months).

Thoughts from before new management ie.
Some thoughts as to future needs:
-A bidet or bidet shower head at side of private toilets.
-Steam carpet cleaner - to be more effective with urine, spillages etc. (Resident rather than hired) This may be in place now.

The ownership changed this month and every care was taken to ensure that the carers and routines, including costing's were the same. This is a family sized caring home with a very friendly atmosphere, where residents come first and are involved actively in entertainment. Families and friends are always welcome. The meals are carefully planned and home cooked. Mum has always been happy and well cared for here.

Been on Island for 30 years. Heard of 2 people whose parents were in and were happy with all aspects of care so when my dad became unwell I was keen to follow my thought of placing him here. Privately run, no 'silly frills' of larger multi-national organisations.
