The private and secluded setting of East Hill House belies its position on the fringe of the charming village of Liss. The Main House occupied a commanding site overlooking the West Downs, with views to Stoner Hangers and Wheatham Hill. Access is surprisingly simple as the old A3 and the new bypass are each ½ a mile away, the latter providing a fast route northward to Guildford (20 miles) and London (49 miles) and southward to Chichester and the Coast (20 miles). Moreover Liss is served by a half hourly train service between London Waterloo (55 minutes) and Portsmouth (25 minutes). East Hill House is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection to provide both short and long term personal care packages to elderly people. Our home manager Priscilla Le Pla a registered nurse who has worked within the care home sector for a number of years is a recent appointment to East Hill House. Priscilla brings with her a wealth of experience in the care of older people and her philosophy is to promote high levels of independence within the care setting. Within the grounds of East Hill House there are a number of well-appointed cottages and apartments, which are very popular with very independent older people. General description East Hill House offers the services and comfort of a country house hotel coupled with the informality and independence of an individual home. What makes this possible is a combination of space and style in a unique “village” environment. The main house, a gracious period residence enjoying magnificent views, is complimented by a number of cottages around a central courtyard – close for comfort and security, apart for privacy. Our residents lead individual and active lifestyles within a protective community providing 24-hour care. The main house provides a number of services including room service, hairdressing, concierge services, recreational activities / hobbies. In addition our residents are able to enjoy varied menus which are prepared on site by our qualified chef and which can be enjoyed with a glass of wine in our attractive dining room. Members of our village community are also able to take advantage of our extensive services on a regular or less frequent basis, dependent on their wishes. Residents from the main house, or indeed those in our village community are more than welcome to continue gardening hobbies, if requested a small area of garden can be made available to them. Facilities: Charm and a real sense of community. In the Main House, there are 24 bedrooms, all of which have private bathrooms en-suite. All rooms enjoy stunning views over the surrounding countryside. In addition there are 7 small cottages and 2 apartments (Laurel, Beech, Rose, Hazel, Honeysuckle, The Courtyard, The Forge, The Gables and The Mews) situated around a central lawn by the Main House forming a unique “Village Green” community. All rooms, cottage and apartments have been decorated to very standards and are fully centrally heated. The Main House has an 8 person, silent running lift, making all areas of the home accessible. There is a magnificent spacious Residents Lounge, 2 Elegant Dining Rooms, a Library, a Hairdressing Salon and a welcoming and spacious Reception Hall. East Hill House is set in 3 acres of grounds, with walks and a delightful terraced patio providing seating areas, with views all around. If you are looking for a quality assured care home for yourself, a friend or family member, please contact our home manager Priscilla Le Pla for further information or to arrange a viewing. |
