Elmhurst

Elmhurst really is a home that really does care. all the staff pull together and if necessary will cover for one another. Everyone has a smile on their face always. Emergencies are calmly patiently and professionally attended to. The standard of catering, the laundry, the cleaning are really good. I feel it would be good for the staff to be able to afford an extra carer in each unit, but I appreciate costs. Just a few more stimulating activities particularly for male residents would be nice. Overall it is difficult to give Elmhurst enough praise AND the very professional and thorough handling of the recent shut down was amazing.

My husband Charlie became a resident in Elmhurst last January. I am overwhelmed by the standard of care he is getting. I looked after Charlie for many years and always said he would never go into a care home. I visit him often each time I see him he seems so happy and contented and that is due to the care he receives. I want to say a big thank you to all the staff.

My dad Charlie has been at Elmhurst for a couple of months now. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble, they always treat him with compassion and respect. We as a family had put off putting my dad in residential care, partly because of all the horror stories you hear about with residents being ill treated. But the staff at Elmhurst have renewed our faith in the system by being as close to perfect as you can get.

Mum has been at Elmhurst since January this year. Much to our amazement she has settled really quickly. The staff are amazing. They've gently encouraged her to be more sociable which she wasn't before. Although its a large home as its split into 4 units it doesn't feel big. I'd definitely recommend a look.

I chose this home for my mother as my father had been a resident 9 years ago and I knew how good it was for a 98 year old.
