Review of The Old Rectory, Romney Marsh, Kent by Anne S (Daughter of resident)

My mum has been a resident for just over a year. I have never seen her so happy! She was so excited about and enjoyed the Xmas just gone. She never really enjoyed Xmas before and never been excited about it! It was a pleasure to see. The staff are friendly, so helpful and come immediately if she needs help. Nothing is too much trouble. The home is clean and the food scrummy and plentiful. But also there is a feeling of warmth and belonging like in a family's home, unlike a lot of residential homes. They pick up on tiny changes in personality that indicate when she's becoming tired/unwell. But most of all I know she's safe and happy and I no longer need to worry about her from day to day.

I stayed for 2 weeks in this home for respite and received excellent care by all staff to myself and visitors. Food was very good and good variety. Room was very comfortable and clean and the grounds were well maintained. Nothing was too much trouble. A nice variety of additional services were offered. Would highly recommend.

Review of The Old Rectory, Romney Marsh, Kent by Linda B (Daughter of Resident)

The Rectory is very special. On entering there are lovely smells of baking. Very clean and light and airy. The residents are all happy and get treated with the greatest of dignity and respect. There is a lot of joy and laughter. It is just like home for the residents. My mother is there. She is very bright and alert, but getting more frail and she could not be any happier. There are a lot of activities and in the summer lots of BBQ's and cream teas and concerts. The owners are always helpful and wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble.

My father has been a resident for the last eight years and receives outstanding care and is extremely satisfied and happy there. The owners are committed to providing a high level of support, care and homely accommodation and often do 'over and above' to ensure the residents and relatives are happy. Residents receive respect and are able to maintain their dignity and independence for as long as they can. Food and entertainment very good too.
