Upton House is situated in secure gardens and grounds and provides Dementia, Alzheimer and EMI care. This large Georgian house is in the pretty village of Worth, on the outskirts of Sandwich. Upton enjoys a reputation that is a reflection on the ability, dedication and professionalism of its well motivated and highly trained staff. The home has been established and run by the same family for over 30 years and offers spacious accommodation for 20 people with dementia. Activities available include Art Sessions, Gardening, Music Therapy and Reminiscence.

This is a first class home with dedicated, caring staff. There is a high standard of cleanliness and no unpleasant smells. We are fully satisfied with the care my father receives.

My wife has been a resident at Upton House for over a year. I am most impressed with the management and have nothing but admiration for all the care staff. I am a regular visitor and I am immensely grateful to all the staff for the care and support to my wife.

Finding a care home for my aunt is one the most difficult choices I have had to make. Upton House made the process easy - the staff could not have been more helpful. My aunt has been a resident for three months and has settled in well. My aunt is quite mobile but the layout of the home, due to the age of the building, could present problems for the less mobile. The staff are excellent and the home has a friendly/welcoming feel. My only concern is possible lack of activities but I appreciate this is difficult given nature of residents.

Upton House is a beautiful old building with extensive grounds. On the back of the building there is a lovely large conservatory where the residents can sit and admire the beautiful garden and eat their meals which are freshly prepared each day. Visitors are warmly welcomed with a tea or coffee and delicious home made cakes. Residents care is also very good. On the minus side, the building could do with a coat of paint and the activities are limited, but it is difficult to see what more could be offered given the age and health of the residents.

As a specialist home for sufferers of dementia inevitably there are downsides for the less infirm. The care is good, most residents are brought down to the day rooms, where they remain for all their meals and snacks throughout the day. Music and/or TV is provided all day, and a few activities. Good management and very competent and experienced care staff.

My brother and I could not have found a better home, the care and love our mum received was wonderful. Always dressed, colour co-ordinated and hair done, it was a pleasure to visit her. We only expected her to live about 4 months when she left hospital and she went on to live there 5 years. We cannot praise them enough.

The staff are caring and all very helpful, the residents all seem happy. My mother always seems happy when I visit and the meals seem very nourishing. The management let you know if there are medical problems, which are taken care of by local surgery.
