My husband has been a resident here for 6 months. He is not a sociable person, but has settled well and seems to get on with the staff who are cheerful and caring. (He is in care because I have been diagnosed with cancer) He has been cared for at home for a number of years (8-9) with increasing vascular dementia, and I cannot manage now. I am very satisfied with the services provided at Lyndhurst.

A lovely old house which has been turned into a beautiful care home. Staff very welcoming and brilliant with the residents. Lots of laughter and banter with all residents, whatever their needs.

My mother is a resident, she is coming up to her third year. I have nothing but praise for all the staff who go out of their way to show care and affection for her. Nothing is too much trouble for them day or night.

The home is extremely safe and secure. Families and friends are made very welcome when they visit. The staff are patient and understanding. My father settled in very quickly to the home, quickly forming good relationships with the staff and other residents. He is so much happier settled and secure than he was living at home (with his early onset of Alzheimer’s) and we have peace of mind knowing he is safe and happy.

Staff are caring, have good sense of humour, always on hand to answer questions, support both residents and family, indeed they almost are an extension of my family. They don't humiliate residents but treat them with respect and as much dignity as the situation allows. Home itself is very comfortable 'home form home'. Importantly does not smell of urine, faeces or disinfectant, smells are more of baking.
