Job Title: Home Manager
The sixty residents at Madley Park House are looked after by a highly dedicated team of over one hundred staff which include carers, administrators and ancillary staff. They are led by the manager who is supported by a Head of Care and a team of Care Leaders.
Sally Cross has been the manager of Madley Park House since 2012. She has over 22 years’ experience in the care sector.
Sally commenced her career in care as a Nursing Auxiliary with a nursing home then as a Health Care Assistant within an NHS Hospital before commencing her career with OSJCT as a Care Leader. Sally was promoted to Head of Care at Madley Park House in 2005 before moving to Mayott House in Abingdon in 2007 as a Trainee Manager. Prior to returning to Madley Park House as Home Manager in 2012, Sally managed two other OSJCT homes in Oxfordshire.
Sally holds the Registered Manager’s Award, a Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care, CIEH – Health and Safety and NVQ D32 & D33 Assessor Award. Sally has completed numerous short courses covering all aspects of caring for the elderly. These ensure that all residents on the residential and dementia units at Madley Park House receive the best care from staff. Sally has also completed the Alzheimer’s Society leadership training programme, Champions in Dementia, which ensures the appropriate care is maintained for residents on the dementia unit.
Sally sets high standards of conduct and performance for herself and her staff. As a result she is proud that every inspection of the homes she has managed, by either the Care Quality Commission or its predecessor - the Commission for Social Care Inspection, has successfully rated them as meeting, or exceeding, the standards of care expected.
