General Description An elegant Victorian property, Claydon House Residential Care Home provides an exceptional environment for residents. Quietly situated in one of the most sought-after residential areas of Lewes and with delightful cottage gardens, the house has been completely refurbished to the highest standards. Benefiting from its classical Victorian heritage, the home has been sympathetically extended and converted to retain many original features. At the same time, it is equipped with every modern facility to ensure a high standard of comfort and care. Approached through a graceful entrance hall with its original Victorian pattern tiled floor, the house boasts a wealth of period detail including fireplaces, cornice work, high ceilings, large sash windows and light, airy rooms. The house is laid out over four storeys with a purpose-built extension. Communal accommodation includes two sitting rooms, two dining rooms and two conservatories, sophisticated call-bell, fire alarm and smoke detection systems are installed throughout the home for added peace-of-mind. A passenger lift links all floors. We also have an on-site laundry service. Located in both the main house and the extension is a choice of 28 premier or standard single bedrooms. All are all beautifully decorated and fourteen have en-suite facilities. Four are designated premium balcony rooms with splendid outlooks. In addition, there are two en-suite companion rooms for married couples or close friends. Claydon House is a popular location for both short and long-term care placements, which are aimed at supporting residents in maintaining their independence. This is achieved through our tailored care planning, which ensures provision of appropriate care at all times. Daily life at Claydon House offers variety and promotes independence through the development of meaningful activities plans, which are developed in consultation with our residents to ensure that there is always something of interest to everyone. The home is very well integrated with the local community affording many local opportunities within local churches, clubs and associations.
