Since my father was resident nearly ten years ago, I have recommended several elderly friends to Highgrove. It has a lovely caring atmosphere.

Brightness and comfort of premises. Very helpful and cheerful staff. Always greeted pleasantly and cheerfully when visiting and tea or coffee offered. Owners friendly and helpful. Nurse manager very friendly and helpful, always ready to answer questions. Good relationship between residents and staff. I would certainly recommend the home to others.

Review of Highgrove House, Worthing, West Sussex by Peter S (Son of resident)

This care home had been recommended by a friend whose father had been at Highgrove House for several years. My mother who is 85 had experienced several falls and is suffering with short term memory loss and whose mobility is becoming a great problem. I realised with a degree of reluctance that my mother now required specialist care and attention at all times and so she has been in Highrove House for nearly one month. My mind is eased knowing she is being so well cared for.

Review of Highgrove House, Worthing, West Sussex by Roy A (Nephew & POA for resident)

Staff are always helpful and smiling, kind without being condescending. Nice setting and sensible size (approx 20) for a care home. Visitors welcomed (even without advance notice) and greeted with the offer of tea/coffee. My aunt has been at Highgrove House for about 2 years and often without prompting, has regularly said how happy she is there and how kind and helpful the staff are. We chose Highgrove after a lengthy search of the area and have never regretted the choice.

Review of Highgrove House, Worthing, West Sussex by Peter Crockford (son of former resident)

My mother was diagnosed with alzheimers in 2011 and we needed to find her a carehome urgently. After seeing some really awful homes we were lucky enough to find Highgrove and she lived there happily until she passed away in September 2012. The home is clean and comfortable and has a very stable staff who are kindness personified. They really make the residents feel they are friends. The home is more like a small seaside hotel which makes it feel much less institutional. Tables are nicely laid up for meals and there is a choice of sitting areas and a lovely garden for good weather. Above all, though, it is the staff who make the difference and I have never met a kinder bunch. In my mother's final illness, they volunteered to do the extra work needed to keep her in the home rather than hospital as they knew a move would disorientate her and they wanted to keep her safe and calm. They manage to make it really homelike without the usual smell of incontinence so prevalent in care homes we visited and all the residents seem contented. I would recommend it to anybody in the strongest possible terms!

Review of Highgrove House, Worthing, West Sussex by Sylvia Crossingham (Niece of resident)
Tuesday 18 December 2012
My Aunt has thrived since entering this care home. She was extremely frail and in need of further care. It has been obvious that the care, attention to detail and friendly, warm surroundings experienced at Highgrove are just what she needed. The carers are jolly, friendly, attentive, patient and best of all very kind to every resident whatever their situation. They relate extremely well to the needs of each individual and adapt their care to match their requirements. It is the nearest she could get to her own home and we are free to visit her at any time, always receiving a warm welcome.

The staff are very caring and the atmosphere of the home is happy. To say that the home is a real home to the resident is an understatement. All visitors are welcomed and are treated in the same way you would welcome visitors to your own home.
