Walstead Place Care Home has a close proximity to the West Sussex town of Haywards Heath, which makes it conveniently placed in relation to the main line commuter station to London and the main Motorway network. Brighton and the South Coast are only 12 miles. Walstead Place is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide both short and long-term care to elderly people requiring residential care.
Set in its’ own beautiful gardens of some 2½ acres. Walstead Place dates back to 1852, being a typical Gentleman’s residence of the 19th Century, in the small and delightful hamlet of Walstead, within a mile of the picturesque village of Lindfield where there is a Post Office, Bank and many local shops and pubs.

Moving a precious and loved parent into a nursing home is one of the most difficult things we have had to do but all the staff at Walstead Place have made our task easier. They have offered advice, physical help and a cheerful manner at all times from the office, the maintenance men, laundry lady and all the carers. Their patience and smiles have helped, they are your best asset at Walstead Place.

The staff are kind and caring on the whole but like most homes they are under staffed when really needed. It is comfortable enough but very pricey.

Brilliant staff who have a genuine care for patients. My grandmother had gone into hospital after living at home independently. We did not think she would be around for much longer, but under the great care and friendly atmosphere of Walstead she has made a full recovery. The staff go out of their way to make all their residents feel important and loved. My grandmother did not want to come to a home, but she now likes Walstead better than her old home!

The home provides an extremely safe and secure environment with very good individual care and attention. Each weekly activity programme is designed to encourage as much participation as each individual wants. The dining room offers a first class menu with choices which change every day, as well as breakfast and evening meal in your room if required. Each person is treated individually and their needs are looked after 24 hours a day. All staff work professionally and attend to each person’s needs as they are required calmly and without any fuss, nothing is too much trouble. Overall an excellent home in which to keep your dignity and self-respect as one reaches final years.

Walstead House is set in a beautiful location with lovely gardens. The staff are all very friendly and every effort has been made to make Mum feel at home and part of the Walstead family. The Management team are very approachable and are always happy to discuss and resolve any concerns/requests. Communication and administration of monthly fees and charges is timely and efficient which makes it so much easier for me to deal with. Thank You!

The care home is in beautiful countryside and the building itself is very attractive, as are the residents' rooms. But, I recommend this care home particularly because of the carers themselves. My Mother has been resident for over 2 1/2 years and I have spent hours and hours visiting her there. The carers are dedicated, hardworking, humorous, patient, kind and caring people, absolutely marvellous. Whenever I leave her I know I don't have to worry about her wellbeing. She is in good hands at Walstead.
