General Description

Set in its’ own beautiful gardens of some 2½ acres. Walstead Place dates back to 1852, being a typical Gentleman’s residence of the 19th Century, in the small and delightful hamlet of Walstead, within a mile of the picturesque village of Lindfield where there is a Post Office, Bank and many local shops and pubs.

This fine house has undergone a substantial refurbishment and extension programme and is beautifully furnished throughout, providing a gracious and welcoming home for elderly retired ladies and gentlemen. Walstead Place places a strong emphasis on guest services and as such employs a qualified chef to deliver a wide and varied menu. Meals can be served with wine, and sherry is a popular aperitif before a full Sunday Lunch.

The home provides accommodation for Residents on Ground, First and Second floors. Walstead Place is entered through an attractive reception hall, which provides additional seating for residents and visitors; there is also a superb main sitting room which enjoys extensive outlook, down over the sloping lawned gardens to rolling fields and countryside beyond. There is a magnificent conservatory and additional smaller sitting room, which are available for residents who wish to relax in a quieter atmosphere.

We have a wide selection of single and companion en-suite rooms, all which have been individually decorated to provide the highest standards in comfort and care. Many of our ground floor bedrooms benefit from having direct access to the patio and garden. All of our bedrooms have T.V. Aerial points and a telephone socket can be installed for a private telephone line if required. All rooms are also fitted with a nurse call systems, which can only be answered by a member of staff visiting the room.

It is the aim of Walstead Place to provide a home from home in which staff and residents are actively involved in the day to day decision making of the home, in which every effort is taken by Management and staff to give special 24 hour care under the strict supervision of our Head of Care, a qualified nurse for that added peace of mind.

Individualised tailored care plans are devised in consultation with residents and their family / advocates to ensure that we deliver care that is appropriate to each persons’ individual needs.

If you are looking for a quality assured care home for yourself, a friend or family member, please contact our home manager Jane Large for further information or to arrange a viewing.
