Following a deterioration in Mum's health it was clear she could no longer stay in her own home. At Chiswick House we were struck by its friendly and cheerful atmosphere and a home from home feeling. The staff there are always helpful and caring and will go the extra mile to support their residents. As I live away from the area, it's great to have the peace of mind knowing that Mum is in a pleasant place with lovely people and that someone is there for her 24/7.

Review of Chiswick House, Norwich, Norfolk by Allie Wharf (Daughter of resident)

When entering Chiswick House my mother was very unwell. Since being in the care of the staff at CH she has returned virtually entirely to her old self, thanks, mostly we believe, to the care she has received whilst there. The staff are excellent and go 'the extra mile' to make sure that the people in their care are as best looked after as possible. It's a lovely house with nice, quiet gardens which are easily accessible to the residents and excellent food. I would highly recommend it to others.

Review of Chiswick House, Norwich, Norfolk by Tim Powell (Son of Resident)

Tuesday 8 May 2012

My mother (aged 95) has been a resident at Chiswick House for over 4 years following a major stroke which occurred during a heart valve operation. Although the stroke left her without the effective use of one leg, and hence she needs 24 hours a day care, her mind remains sound. Chiswick House is a fine old house with nice gardens which have been adapted well for use as a care home. It is generally well maintained and, when reported, minor problems are resolved efficiently. Living fairly close, I am able to visit my Mother 3 or 4 times a week at various times. The home exudes a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and, at present, the staff are all very good and caring. Some are outstanding and go beyond what you could reasonably expect in relatively lowly paid employment. The food is excellent and varied and the home provides a very good range of entertainment, mainly musically based. The only slight criticism being that events can become bunched followed by a lull at times. My Mother is quite a demanding lady who is not frightened to speak her mind and I would have no hesitation in recommending Chiswick House to others.

Well placed geographically near centre of Norwich therefore handy for visitors (combining shopping in Norwich). Small (with a 'family' atmosphere) and homely. Well decorated, clean and set in lovely accessible garden. Very friendly, helpful and personable staff. Lots of activities etc.
