The Review Score of 8.734 for Mary Chapman Court is based on 5 Reviews/Recommendations in the last 2 years.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.911 for Mary Chapman Court is calculated as follows: ( (51 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 56 Ratings = 4.911

      • Any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this care provider to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 3.823 for Mary Chapman Court is calculated as follows:

      1. 5 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 5 Positive Reviews = 0.500

      3. (5 Positive Reviews ÷ 31 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.323

I am very happy here. All the staff are professional, polite and caring - my needs are all catered for very well. Medical care is readily available. We are pampered i.e. manicures, pedicures and hairdressing. Clothes are always clean and our bodies are always clean. Any skin blemish is attended to immediately. The room has its own private patio with table and chairs and lovely gardens. I have nothing but praise.

Mum chose to come to you for respite care because she was constantly tired, and unable to grieve for the loss of Dad who died at the end of April. She had been reluctant to consider going into a home because she was so independent. From the moment we walked in, she relaxed. Staff were consistently kind, caring, paid attention to her and all the small details. She decided to stay but quickly deteriorated. When it became clear she was dying, staff swung into action to care for the whole family. Mum was safe and secure, and we were all treated with love and dignity. Chef went out of his way to ensure we were fed during the long hours we sat with Mum. We could not have chosen a kinder, more caring place for Mum and I cannot thank the staff enough for all that they did for all of us.

You cannot put a price on how much we valued all that staff did for Mum, and us, as a family. With heartfelt thanks.

My Mum went to Mary Chapman for respite - a break for her and rest for my sister. We lost our Dad in April and it has been hard. From day one, Mum felt at home. But, she became so ill, so quickly. I cannot tell you how grateful we are to the whole team who have been amazing and cared for Mum so well. They have cared for me also.Truly an amazing environment.

I don't need as much help with things as other residents here, but they (the staff) are always looking out for me, checking I'm all right. I feel safe all the time. The food is really very good and there's lots of choice. I'm rushed off my feet with all the things going on! A lovely little homely home.
