Uvedale Hall
Coddenham Road, Needham Market, Ipswich IP6 8AX

Tel: 01449 722250
Uvedale Hall was named after the famous botanist, Robert Uvedale. The property is located in the Gipping Valley in the attractive Suffolk town of Needham Market. The home is convenient for visiting Ipswich and Stowmarket, and Needham Lake is nearby, a perfect location for walking. Whilst Robert Uvedale was renowned for propagating the Cedar of Lebanon tree, it is the hundred year old geranium plant in the resident’s conservatory that attracts everyone today. Residents can also enjoy the garden with its well maintained grounds and central fountain.
Uvedale Hall is one of the finest care homes in Suffolk, offering an unparalleled range of facilities and services in idyllic surroundings.
Uvedale Hall is an attractive Georgian home that has three elegant lounges, a south-facing conservatory and a magnificent staircase, winding round a sparkling chandelier. Accommodation is offered in single bedrooms all of which are with en-suite facilities and are tastefully decorated. Television and telephone points are provided. Rooms are fully furnished, however, residents are encouraged to bring items of their own furniture and possessions with them so that their room can become truly their own.
Care staff are trained to the highest standards and chosen not only for their skills but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. Staff are available constantly and provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual.
Residents are regularly assessed to ensure that their needs are fully met. Appointments can be arranged with a visiting optician, dentist, and chiropodist. The home has an in-house hairdressing salon that provides all the usual services plus manicures and hand massages. Catering staff provides delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, and special diets can of course be provided for.
There is a dedicated Activities Coordinator at Uvedale Hall and residents can arrange to take part in as many, or as few, activities as they wish.
Family and friends are always welcome at Uvedale Hall and we value their involvement in our resident’s care. Above all, we promote individual choice in a caring environment that is free from stress or worry.

As I am getting on in life but have all my faculties and my son and daughter-in-law needed a holiday, we decided to see what it was like at the above and liked what we saw, and decided I would stay there. I was able to spend a fortnight there and had a very good rest. I am more than happy.

My mother has been at Uvedale for 4 years and I have found the care and attention she has had to be exceptional. I always enjoy my visits as I am made to feel welcome. The staff are carefully chosen. I think they seem happy in their work and we get to know them well as many of them have been at the home a long time.

We looked at 12 homes for my elderly mother and settled on Uvedale Hall. The reasons were - the place feels like home not 'a home', the friendliness of the staff, compact size, no long corridors to struggle along, management's positive caring attitude, involvement of relatives when possible, lovely location and garden, excellent food and again the staff!

Uvedale is first and foremost the resident’s home. The staff are extremely professional, high quality, respectful, very caring and fun. Residents are encouraged to maintain their independence but help is always there when it is needed. Uvedale has a busy and varied social programme with something available every day. Excellent home cooked meals and the opportunity for family and friends to come to lunch is typical of the friendly atmosphere. There are beautiful gardens to explore or sit and enjoy in the sunny weather and a lovely lakeside walk close by.

Homely, caring, happy atmosphere. Always sound of residents and staff chatting. The understanding staff are well trained and when my father had an emergency admission to hospital staff stayed outside their working hours to help him. Regular outings and activities. Good, fresh home cooked meals. Near town centre and easy wheelchair access to a pretty lakeside walk for sunny afternoons.
