Ashcombe Court is located in the seaside town of Weston-uper-Mare. The home is within a 10 minute walk of the Winter Gardens, main shopping area and Weston's sea front. Amenities are nearby and local shops opposite the home. There is easy access to road links to Bristol and the West Country and M5 Motorway. Ashcombe Court provides care for 7 adults with mental health needs who may also have a borderline learning disability. Accommodation at Ashcombe Court is provided in 7 en-suite bedrooms, 2 of which are on the ground floor and 5 on the first. There is also a house bathroom available. The home also has a large kitchen, dining room, spacious lounge, meeting room and a smoking 'bar'. Residents can also enjoy the landscaped gardens and decked patio area. Whilst the Home is not suitable for wheelchair users, there is disabled access and disabled toilet facilities. All staff at Ashcombe receive extensive training, and 4 or 5 staff are on duty each day, with sleep night staff support at night. Ashcombe Court's aim is to support and enable our residents towards independent living skills. Activities can be arranged for residents and these can include swimming, trips to the beach, BBQ's, access to the local college and leisure centre etc. Activities are dependent on individual preferences. Residents at Ashcombe Court are registered with a local GP. Clients have access to a Tracscare Clinical Support Nurse plus consultant input in the areas of speech therapy, drama therapy psychiatry, psychology, and on an individual needs basis. |
