Review of St Anne's, Saltash, Cornwall by David H (Relative of Resident)
Thursday 19 November 2009
My mother Laura has lived in St Annes Residential Home for around eight years and she refers to the place as `home`. Not a home or a care home, but `her home`. She is happy due to the love and care shown to her; the support and help that is provided, but particularly important is that she feels the staff and management listen and respond to suggestions and concerns of the residents. As her son, my partner and I have always been welcomed and warmly greeted when we arrive to visit my mother, and staff always have time for a chat. Over the eight years of visiting my mother at St Annes we have found the place to have a warm, positive atmosphere and to be a good, safe place to be in later years. My mother has always said to me - `The staff can never do enough for me. They are always so kind and helpful.` I recognise that care for the elderly can often be difficult and very hard work, but the staff at St Annes show that they enjoy all that they do and always have a friendly smile and a comment for visitors. Many of them even want to return with me to Gran Canaria, but I am not sure why. It has been a great relief to know that my mother is in good hands when I am so far away. Thank you St Annes
