In April 2013 Hillbrow House received their Care Quality Commission Inspection Report and are happy announce that they have been assessed as providing a high quality service for Residents in all areas. They are very proud of this!
Hillbrow House is a lovely Home with, we are told, a very happy atmosphere. We provide quality care in homely surroundings. All rooms are individually decorated and everyone is encouraged to personalise their room by bringing pictures, photographs and small items of furniture. The award-winning garden is peaceful and sheltered. Raised beds enable our residents to grow their own vegetables and flowers. The Hillbrow Care team are trained to provide a Resident-centred care service that is personalised to reflect the care needs of each Resident. For this reason our fees are based on the assessed care needs of each resident. In this way we are able to provide a highly personalised service with fees that accurately reflect the dependency of each individual. The fee range shown on this website is indicative only and can only be confirmed following a complete "Pre-assessment" review which we carry out with the client who has expressed an interest in coming to Hillbrow. If you would like more information please ask for a leaflet or our 30 page Resident's Guide. You are very welcome to call in at any time to chat about your needs over a cup of tea or fresh coffee. Our last CQC review concluded that we are providing an excellent quality of care.

Review of Hillbrow House, Crediton, Devon by Noel Parry (Son-in-law of resident)

My mother-in-law was there, with her own attractive room for four years from October 2008, dying there on October 30 this year six months after her 100th birthday. She was invariably treated with love and consideration. Almost all of the time she was wheelchair confined, but all sorts of arts and crafts were arranged and she produced all sorts of attractive gifts for her great grandchildren. The food was very good, entertainments and trips provided, weekly Christian mini services offered and two splendid 100th birthday parties provided. I could not recommend it too highly.

Thank you for the lovely meal on Wednesday to celebrate Barbara's birthday. Very enjoyable and the staff were all very nice and looked after us all. I thought Barbara looked a lot better with your care over the last few months.

I would like to thank you and your team of carers for looking after Mum so well over the past four and a half years, she was happy with you all, and it was home to her. She enjoyed her trips out when she was able to go in the mini-bus, also she very much enjoyed the church services, art classes, Norma’s entertainment and other activities. Thank you for letting us celebrate Mum's birthdays in the sun lounge when she was unable to be taken out in the car. She is now at peace out of pain and suffering.

I am so happy that my Mum was able to enjoy the wonderful facilities and beautiful Home. I don't think there could be such a perfect place to be, the wonderful gardens, and bright, clean condition of the House. Mum moved in six years ago today! She was always so happy and as we know she really blossomed when she first arrived. I am very happy that you were able to care for her for so long. Very kindest regards, Carole R.

We are very appreciative of your care for Mum over her last few years. We are all very grateful that during those difficult months, we never doubted that she was getting the best possible care. The patience, respect and understanding shown to her made such a difference to her quality of life. Thank you also for the care and concern that you all showed to us. We were always made to feel welcome and found all of the staff supportive and helpful. When one hears such negative reports in the media, it is good to know that here in Crediton quality care is available for those who need it!

We just want to thank you for all your love and care that you show and express to everyone at Hillbrow. It's so good for all of us who have relatives living with you to know how well everyone is cared for. Thank you especially for all the attractive Christmas extras and arrangements. They obviously all had a whale of a time and I'm sure most of them really enjoyed and appreciated it all.. Would you please express our thanks to the Care Manager and her Team of Carers, Housekeepers and Cooks. We are all so grateful.
