The Hyde Residential Home

My mother went into The Hyde for respite care for a two week period late in 2014. She enjoys it so much that she kept extending her time until she had been there six weeks. She went home for Christmas but has chosen to return, now aged 94. The Hyde is a beautiful period house in a delightful rural setting with large attractive well kept gardens. It does not feel like a nursing home, and more importantly the staff are outstanding in the care they give to the residents.

As a very short stay resident, recommendation is a little difficult, but we were very satisfied with the care mother received and the staff were wonderful.

The Hyde Residential Home

Mum initially arrived at Willow Tree Lodge for a period of respite following a prolonged hospital stay, having been insistent the she wished to remain living independently in her own home. It quickly became apparent that any misgivings regarding care homes were totally unfounded with Willow Tree Lodge. Without exception the staff are patient, kind in every way, put the 'care' into care home. Mum realised that after a series of increasingly damaging falls, independent living is now beyond her and is happy, content and blossoming in the secure and caring environment. We are, as a family, immensely grateful.

The Hyde Residential Home

My mother, Joy Newman, stayed at The Hyde following nearly two weeks in hospital. She settled in very well after a very warm welcome. She gradually gained weight, smiled again, and couldn't praise the staff enough. Personal care, kindness, good food and wonderful surroundings, she returned home after two weeks happier, healthier and content. Wants to return if possible for a day care service. I too was retired and was happy to see her cheerful and ready to face going home. All thanks to The Hyde.

During the nineteen years that my aunt resided at The Hyde the care and continued devotion carried out by all the staff was of an exceptional standard. One could liken the general atmosphere and environment at The Hyde to be that of a happy family amongst loved ones. I would unreservedly recommend The Hyde without hesitation.

Been here 3 years and I'm very, very happy. It's now my home. The carers couldn't be better, one or two put themselves out when they don't have to. The chef accommodates my likes and dislikes.

My mother was a resident for 5 1/2 years, she was very happy and well cared for. When she caught shingles she was very poorly for 3 months and I am sure would have died but for the care and attention she received in 2012/3. In April 2014 she had a stroke and died 10 days later, during that period the carers stayed with her, day and night, sometimes unpaid. They were so caring and wonderful.

My mother has been a resident since Mid 2008 when she was made very welcome. She has been very happy there enjoying, the extensive pretty gardens and very caring service. The staff are well trained and mostly experienced. Personal hygiene is a good standard and she is treated with dignity. There are activities for those that want it, but all are encouraged.

The Hyde Residential Home

Both my parents moved into the Hyde in 2009 and took up residence in a double room which was large, beautifully furnished, en-suite and had fantastic views over the extensive grounds. Sadly my father's health declined shortly after they arrived but the care, treatment and kindness with which he was treated by all the staff was outstanding. They could not have done more for both him and my mother. Dad passed away in 2011 and my mum continues to live there - now in a very nice single en-suite room. The Hyde might not be the cheapest care home around but I can guarantee it is one of the best and anyone thinking of moving either themselves or a relative to live there will not be disappointed.
