It was trepidation that we arranged for my father to go into Kingland. We had read the QCC report for 2014 but after viewing the home and talking to the manageress, we decided to go ahead. It took some time before my father settled but once he adjusted to the routine, he came to regard Kingland as home and was very happy there. On his 101th birthday, a tea party was organised for all the residents and family. A singer came to entertain the gathering and a very nice birthday cake was produced. The staff at the home were always cheerful and willing to go the extra mile. They took great care of him and his health, which had not been so good when he entered the home, improved no end. In fact, we said he'd never looked better. We feel that he enjoyed the last few months of his life as much as was possible and so we would have no hesitation in recommending the home.
