The Red House provides quality 24-hour care for seven adults with learning disabilities. The atmosphere at the Home is relaxed, with the onus on residents involvement, shaping and informing the nature of the service. Rooms are decorated with residents' personal effects. The majority of the staff are recruited from the local area and this ensures low staff turnover and enhanced links with the local community. Residents have their own individual care package which reflects on their own personal needs. The Red House works closely with outside agencies and visiting consultants. Some of the residents attend local colleges or day centres taking part in various courses such as cookery, woodwork, IT and community activities. There are fishing lakes and many tourist sites to visit, providing a wide range of activities to fill the days. |
