Job Title: Home Manager
Description: The fourty eight residents at Hungerford House are cared for by a highly dedicated team of over seventy staff that include Carers, Activity Co-ordinators, Admin Assistant and Ancillary staff. They are led by the manager who is supported by a Head of Care and a team of Care Leaders. Ellie Walton has been the manager of Hungerford House since September 2010. She has over 16 years’ experience in the care sector and over ten years experience in management. Ellie began her caring career as a volunteer on resettlement from the British Army at Brookside in Melksham, Wiltshire. She was then employed at Brookside as a carer and progressed to Care Leader then Manager at Brookside 2003. Ellie transferred to Ridgeway House as Manager in 2007 and then to Hungerford House in September 2010. Throughout her caring career, Ellie has achieved NVQ Care Levels 2, 3 and 4 and the Registered Managers Award. She has completed various short courses including Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and Care at the End of Life. Ellie has also completed the Alzheimer’s Society leadership training programme, Champions in Dementia, and is also awarded a Diploma of Higher Education in Dementia Studies with the University of Bradford, which enables her to support her staff to ensure appropriate and person centred care is consistent and residents experience an environment which is homely stimulating and welcoming.
