Laverstock Care Centre is located in the heart of the magnificent cathedral city of Salisbury, and is one of Caring Homes’ finest new services. Laverstock provides residential, specialist nursing and dementia care for up to 80 elderly ladies and gentlemen in a state of the art home designed to deliver the very highest standards of care.
In providing three distinct types of care under one roof, Laverstock Care Centre is ideally positioned to deliver a true care pathway. As a resident’s care needs change, Laverstock is equipped to meet those needs ensuring that elderly residents are able to remain within the community they have become an integral part of.
Laverstock Care Centre’s dementia wing has been designed to meet the University of Stirling’s standards for dementia care, which are widely acknowledged as providing the best living environment for people living with dementia. Stirling’s Dementia Services Development Centre is renowned as the world leader in this field. The Stirling approach ensures that residents are able to move freely around the home, with bedrooms and communal areas appropriately laid out and clearly signposted to minimise confusion or disorientation. Many bedrooms feature a memory box by the front door, where mementos from a resident’s life help to personalise their room and also remind staff and visitors of the individual’s life story.
Laverstock Care Centre is ideally equipped to provide residential support for elderly people living with different types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia and Korsacoff’s syndrome. However, staff never lose sight of the fact that, first and foremost, Laverstock Care Centre is home to our residents. The home has a light, airy and welcoming ambience and residents benefit from a broad and stimulating range of activities.
The home offers a full range of residential, nursing and dementia care support, including trial stays, respite breaks and convalescent care as well as long term care. Residents are encouraged to bring important personal possessions to personalise their rooms. Laverstock Care Centre operates an open visiting policy, where residents and loved ones may visit at convenient times. In common with all of our homes, Laverstock Care Centre’s manager has a qualified nursing background. The home is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission and has ISO9001/2000 and Hospitality Assured accreditation.

Compassion and professional excellence are hallmarks of the care at LCC. Testimony to this quality is the fact my mother was admitted for ' end of life' care and remains with us, improved and happy, one year on! Staff are exceptional at involving relatives in care plans and continual assessment of residents changing needs. I can't thank them enough.

Lovely modern home, with rooms light and airy with nice fittings. My mother felt at home as soon as she moved in. The staff were wonderful from the nursing staff and carers to the cleaners. They took wonderful care of her and us as we were there most days. When mum passed away, the love and respect shown was of great comfort to our family. I cannot praise the home enough.

I chose to come here post hospitalisation after a total hip replacement as my experience 3 years ago was so good. My husband developed pneumonia and died (in hospital 3 days later). Everything was managed extremely well, faultless reactions and care for him and for me. This respite has enabled me to return home with confidence. It has exceeded my expectations.
