Evergreen is situated in Moseley, a peaceful suburb of Birmingham. The home is convenient for local shops, sport centre and day centres. The Midlands Arts Centre is also nearby. There are plenty of venues for socialising close by. Evergreen has the added benefit of being located on a good bus route. Evergreen is registered for 8 adults with brain injury, physical disability, learning difficulties and mental health needs by the Commission for Social Care and Inspection (CSCI). Care is offered to adults aged 45+ and with varying disabilities, including adults primarily with brain injury, or dual diagnosis needs in a small friendly environment. Evergreen has ground floor rooms for clients who have impaired mobility. Accommodation at Evergreen is provided in a detached house on 2 floors, with 4 ground floor bedrooms and 4 first floor bedrooms, all of which are single occupancy. Residents may socialise and relax in the spacious comfortable communal lounge and sunny conservatory. In warmer weather, the pretty garden can be enjoyed with its rear decking area and patio. There is ramp access to the front and rear of the house. The front has forecourt parking area. Residents at Evergreen can partake in many activities both on and off-site. Local facilities include: cinemas, local shops, museums, day centres (including Headway), Head Injuries Club, local pubs, bingo, and colleges, Employment Training Unit. Major entertainment events take place within the City of Birmingham, at the Symphony Hall, NIA and NEC. The city also has three main theatres, the Alexander Theatre, The Birmingham Hippodrome and the Birmingham Repertory Theatre as well as the Midlands Arts Centre. In-house activities include: bingo, chess, cards, memory games, reading/writing skills, music/ art therapy, and gardening. Staff receive in-depth training and on-going support on low arousal techniques, which are at the core of Tracscare care philosophy. Evergreen operates with 4 staff to 8 clients during the day with both Wake Night & Sleep in Staff at nightime. All staff receive extensive internal training supplemented by relevant external courses. The aim at Evergreen is to promote independence, dignity and friendship within a secure and safe environment, through high staffing and morale. Residents are all enrolled with the local GP and have access to Tracscare Clinical Support Nurse plus consultant input in the areas of speech therapy, drama therapy, psychiatry, psychology, & aromatherapy on an individual needs basis. The home has a vehicle available for resident outings. |
