Woodlands is situated near to Acocks Green in Birmingham. Woodlands provide support and care to six adults with varying Mental Health needs which may include anxiety disorder, depression and post-acute psychosis. Woodlands also supports clients with a level of challenging needs associated with their Mental Health requirements. Accommodation at Woodlands is provided in 6 full en-suite bedrooms (one on the ground floor, 4 on the first floor and the 6th on the second floor). This detached property provides further facilities over 3 floors including a spacious lounge, along with a quiet room, a laundry room (ground floor), and a separate bathroom on the first. There is a private enclosed garden for residents to enjoy. Residents are encouraged to take part in in-house activities such as music/art therapy, computer studies and cooking sessions, as well as in local facilities including colleges, drop in centres and leisure centres. All staff receive a Mental Health induction course specific to Woodlands, covering associated mental health issues including Psychosis, Manic Depression, Neurosis Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Depression. Staff also receive training on First Aid, Food hygiene and a 1 day course 'understanding the clients perspective'. There are an average of 4/5 staff on duty during the day, and 1 wake night staff and a sleep night staff at night. However, dependent on client needs, one-to-one staffing is available.
