We have a happy life here at Sunrise with good care and food, plenty of activities and various classes i.e painting, cake-making etc. Outings on the mini bus to various of Staffordshire and surrounding areas. We have a visiting member of Tettenhall Church most weeks and all the usual seasons of the church throughout the year and observed we have great celebrations coming in June for the Queen's 90th birthday and some of our residents, 6 in number including myself, are also celebrating 90th birthdays. Twenty months ago, after being advised that my husband could no longer be safely cared for at home, it was necessary to to research the provision of local care. Sunrise of Tettenhall became the obvious choice. It was a very difficult time but the welcome he received and the consideration shown to me, his wife, made the change in our lives tolerable. There have been occasional problems but there has been a plausible explanation, freely given. The activities are excellent and clearly arranged for the individual to choose.

My sister-in-law has been in residence for 18 months, care has been very good and we have found nothing at all to complain about. She seems very happy and contented.

Main meals PM - excessive volume , especially meat, vegetables, cream, sugar and jam. Excess of nutritional requirements. Most puddings - sticky sweet - meringue sugar.
Food and drink - meal service irregular.
Breakfast - cereal/cooked eggs, coffee and fruit. Best meal of the day - excellent.

Excellent surroundings. Very clean. Only criticism was the time it took for carers to respond to her buzzer when she called. She found two residents in her room at night which upset her.

My wife has dementia which was diagnosed in March 2009
After an extensive review and many verbal enquiries - many from Caring Professionals - my family and I chose Sunrise for my wife because we judged it as being the best accommodation in the area. Her initial stay was for 1 months respite in September 2013 from which both she and I benefited. On November 28th 2013 my wife moved again into Sunrise as a permanent resident where she still resides.
Until earlier this year all was well but around early May, from my frequent visits, I detected a lowering of standards of care which I deduced was caused by shortage of caring staff and their supervision. I had a discussion with one of the Duty Managers who advised me that she would email her senior colleagues and convene a meeting with them to advise them of my views. Almost immediately I noticed an improvement back to the previous higher standards.
On 25th September 2015 I signed Form of Variation agreeing to increase the Care Level for my wife from Rem2 to Bespoke 2.

Care administered to my mother has been very good. The carers are kind and patient where also being efficient in the tasks they perform. The standard of food is very good with a good variety on the menu. There is always something that mum will like. The play rooms are always clean and tidy. The bedrooms are cleaned every day to a very high standard. The only minor weakness is that is sometimes it takes a little too long before help arrives if mum has pressed her buzzer. Overall the service is excellent and all staff are helpful and friendly.

My 94 year old father who is suffering from progressive dementia has been a resident in the reminiscence unit for over four years. I am delighted with the care and attention that he, a temperamentally difficult person receives. The care staff and, in particular the manageress of the dementia unit, provide an outstanding level of care. The premises are almost luxurious, very clean and maintained to a very high standard. The home has a very open door visiting policy and despite many visits over the past four years I have never seen anything to give concern over my father's welfare. Fees are not cheap but, as with most things you get what you pay for, hence my ticking satisfactory against value for money below.

My Mother-In-Law has been with Sunrise for three years now, it was a hard decision. Looking back, it was the best decision. Not one of us could have provided the round-the-clock care that she needs, or even come close to providing her with the quality of life she has at Sunrise. As her alzheimers has progressed she moved into the reminiscence unit. She is happier there, in more secure and attentive surroundings.
We never announce our intention to visit.. mostly because we’re not sure when we can be there… but we are always welcomed with warm smiles and my Mother-In-Law is always well looked after.
If we ever have any concerns, they are dealt with personally and promptly. I am also able to ask what she needs and get a response quickly.
It has and continues to be one of the most difficult things we have dealt with, but Sunrise have supported us and we have no worries that she is in the very best place at this time.

I just wanted to take a moment to "Thank You" personally, and the whole team for doing such an outstanding job when John and Kath moved in.We were struck by the superb levels of professionalism shown by the whole team at Sunrise (every last staff member) and the care and attention given to every last detail to make sure everything ran smoothly. You seldom see a tight knit team who work exceptionally well together but you guys have cracked it.
You should all be very proud of the outstanding service you deliver.

Having recently moved a couple into Sunrise of Tettenhall, both with very different care needs, the experience was excellent and the level of support by all staff members involved was superb. I would however like to give that extra level of recommendation to Carrie Jahn, Director of Community Relations, Sue Gallagher, Deputy Manager and Head of Care, and Geraldine Bunning, Activities Co-ordinator, all whom went that extra mile prior to and on the day of move in to help the couple and their family feel they had definitely made the right decision. Speaking with family members since their parents move to Sunrise, albeit early days, they are very pleased with the home and how their parents are settling. Great job to all concerned. Thank you.
