The Woodlands Care Home provides specialist residential service for men-only, offering learning disability residential care for 6 men. Service users typically have a learning disability along with complex co-morbid conditions such as personality disorder, mental health problems and forensic issues.

The unit is staffed 24/7 by a dedicated team of support workers. The service at The Woodlands Learning Disability Care Home is designed for those individuals who require a high level of support and supervision in a community setting, often as part of a care pathway when stepping down from secure unit or hospital care, or because care for individuals cannot be adequately provided in a supported living service due to the complexity of their problems, or their challenging behaviours.

The aim of the service is to prepare individuals for living more independently through a programme of active community engagement, developing meaningful social networks, managing risk and developing robust coping strategies.

The Woodlands Care Home forms a key part of the learning disability care pathway with The Woodhouse Hospital service at Cheadle which is just 20 minutes away.
