Gildawood Court Care Home is located close to the centre of Nuneaton, in Warwickshire. Nuneaton in the northeast of Warwickshire. Once a small hamlet listed in the doomsday book, is now a lively modern town. Its most famous ex-resident was Mary Ann Evans, or George Elliot. Many of the civic buildings and indeed the area around are named after her. On the edge of the Warwickshire coalfield, and with its textile industry developing, the town grew rapidly following the industrial revolution and further developed with the growth of manufacturing in Coventry and Birmingham.
Gildawood Court is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide both short and long term care to elderly people who suffer with dementia and require help and support with daily living, but do not require nursing intervention.
Gildawood Court is a purpose built care home designed to provide the highest standards of care and facilities. The Court is tastefully decorated and furnished to create a gracious, elegant and comfortable environment. Of paramount importance and something that we never forget is that Gildawood Court is home and as such is always open to friends and relatives.
Although Gildawood is a relatively large care home, it is split into 2 areas, the Court and the Annexe, both of which are self contained and operate individually.
In the Court, there are 35 well appointed single en suite rooms, which are supported by extensive communal living accommodation, including a number of light and spacious day rooms and dining room areas, there is also an attractive conservatory area which is surrounded by and enclosed courtyard garden.
Within the Annexe there are 25 well appointed single en-suite bedrooms located over 2 floors, the annexe has modern communal living areas, which include open plan living, dining and kitchen areas which are most convenient for providing our residents with meals and drinks throughout the day.
For its central location, Gildawood Court stands in large gardens, which surround the home, providing an attractive outlook to most areas of the home.
We benefit from being located next to a modern purpose built General Medical Practice, who serve our residents, although many of our residents wish to retain the services of their own GP and are most welcome to continue in this if their GP will provide support to them whilst they are resident at Gildawood Court.
Our experienced and qualified care staff have undergone specialist training to help them to support elderly people with dementia, through an in-depth understanding of all aspects of care for people suffering with dementia. Care is provided through 24 hours a day, and conveniently located call bells ensure that a member of staff is always readily available.
If you are looking for a dedicated dementia care home for yourself, a friend or a relative please contact our home manager for further details or to arrange a viewing of this reputable care home.

Nice clean home, very friendly staff, considerate to my mother. She has the best of care and continuity in that care. All the rooms have there own ensuite which to my mind is essential. Outings are arranged for in the summer for those able to go. My mother had her 100th birthday in November and the staff and family put on a party for her. Nowhere is the same as home, but when you have to make a decision to place anyone in care, Gildawood Court ticks all the boxes.

The home is well looked after, my dad is always happy, If I have any concerns the staff always help or advise. The food is always good however there is room for improvement occasionally there is an unpleasant odour however the home have assured me that this issue is being dealt with. The staff are truly brilliant they always have time to talk and my dad obviously likes all of them even though his dementia is now getting much worse and can be difficult at times.

Dad went to Gildawood when the family were in crisis as Mum was taken ill suddenly. The management and staff were excellent in helping and support Dad. Mum passed away since then and we have had to cope with a difficult family situation but Gildawood have supported Dad very well and managed the family in a sensitive way. Dad could not be in a better place.

Gildawood is a very happy and pleasant place to be in, the staff are very friendly and helpful, all staff and relatives on first names. My mother celebrated her 100th birthday on the first of November, we had a lovely party the staff were great. We were worried at having to put mum in care and manager to keep her in her own home until the age of 98, her move to Gildawood went very smoothly. My brother and myself would recommend Gildawood to anyone.

As soon as you enter the home you get an enthusiastic welcome from all of the staff. I have witnessed the total dedication that carers give to each and every resident. Even our social worker, who is out of the country, was extremely impressed with the level of care that was given & the systems they have in place for every eventuality. Especially because the home accepts residents at local authority banding rates. My father looks healthier & happier in Gildawood than he was up until he moved.

Dad attended day care initially and really enjoyed the experience, also giving Mum a rest. When Mum passed away suddenly, Gildawood responded excellently and supported the family through a difficult time by making sure Dad was safe and happy. The manager and staff have been very supportive and sensitive to difficult family issues. Good surroundings, good staff and good balance of privacy and social activity.

Reception area very welcoming. I could not have found a better dementia care home for my mum. Gildawood staff are excellent, friendly, caring and kind. That’s my priority for my mum's care. Her personal care and healthcare are excellent. Food is very good, the cook is careful, with a balanced diet and good fresh food. Continual cleaning of the home can be seen. Family can visit any time and are always welcomed by staff. I would recommend Gliderwood to anyone. I would go there myself if I had this illness. There is no recommendation better than that.
