Friary Fields is situated within a five mintue walk of Newark town centre and is set in its own private mature gardens. The town has a wide variety of shops, cafes, pubs, banks and a market. There is a public park, bowling green and tennis courts across the road. Residents are actively encouraged to use the town's amenities either by themselves or with the assistance of relatives or staff.
The Home has 23 rooms of which two are shared and the remainder are single. All bedrooms are furnished with a suitable bed, wardrobe, chairs, lockable cabinet, radio nurse-call system and smoke detectors. Residents are welcome to personalise their rooms with their own furniture, pictures and other items should they so wish.
The Home is suitably equppied for its Residents. There is a passenger lift and chair-lift. There are grab rails, walking aids and hoists situated around the Home. Staff are trained to NVQ standard and provide a high quality of care for our Residents.
Meals are carefully prepared by our catering staff in consultation with a nutritionist and Residents are offered choices each day. Special diets will be catered for.
The Home is equipped with toilets and bathrooms on every floor. There are two lounges both of which are equipped with a TV and music system and there are two dining rooms. The Home receives regular visits from the hairdresser, chiropodist, optician, dentist, clergy and has regular in-house entertainment. The Home also has an extensive collection of books, games and toys.
