My mother's failing health meant that at some time we, as a family, we would make the decision for her to relocate to a care home. We took 'Healthcare for the Elderly' professionals' recommendations and visited Leawood. The Manager was brilliant (still is) and guided us through the process; Mum felt more at home after two respite stays and has now been a permanent resident for almost two months. Visually Leawood looks and feels 'right' as a venue but more importantly the residents are very peaceful, are safe and well cared for, despite most of them having Dementia to some degree. The staff are amazing and clearly do 'care' for the people in their charge and the management ensures staff development takes place on a regular basis. All the rooms I have visited have been more like that of a 4 star hotel and the food is nutritious and of a very high standard. It has the 'feel' of a family with the staff and residents all being part of that dynasty. Whilst initially I had 'fears and concerns' over my mother going into a Care Home; I have no issue in recommending Leawood where people not only care for Mum but treat her as an individual with dignity and respect- we have recommended it to others and only this week a friend's mother has moved in – thanks to all at NG2 6HT.

I would certainly recommend this home. My uncle moved into Leawood Manor in November 2012 and from day one the care and understanding he was given helped him to settle, it's now lovely to see him smiling and interacting with both staff and residents. The facilities are good and the food is excellent, family members are encouraged to engage with staff and play an active role in the care of residents. The atmosphere within Leawood Manor is very good and the open door approach shown by the Manager cascades down through all the staff. When visiting my uncle, I am always made welcome and kept informed of any concerns which are addressed in a speedy and sensitive manner.

Leawood Manor has cared for my mother on a permanent basis for two years five months. In all that time she has been well cared for. The home is spotless and the staff very approachable, and keep me well informed. A friend has already taken her father into Leawood on my recommendation and I wouldn't hesitate to pass my thoughts on again to others.

From the moment I walked into the home it felt 'right'. My Dad receives wonderful care, the staff are fantastic. They also provide a shoulder to cry on when things get to me. Their support is invaluable.

The words 'care home' can conjure up all kind of horrors, go into Leawood Manor and your fears and concerns will be banished. Our mother who suffers from dementia has been a resident for over 2 years. We feared the worst when the time came for her to be taken into care but we need not have worried. Mum is happy and very well cared for and as visitors we are always welcome. The facilities are very good and the staff are caring and mindful of mum's needs. The home has a good atmosphere and from the manager down it is obvious that they have both pride in their work and dedication to supporting their residents.

I moved my gran to Leawood last November and from my first meeting with Jeremy I knew my gran would be cared for. All the staff are friendly and caring, not only towards my gran but to me also. They always have time to keep me up to date and a shoulder to cry on when needed. I see gran most days and whatever time I go standards are the same. Gran is bedridden now, but she is obviously changed, washed and cared for all of the time. I cannot praise the staff or the home enough, they are brilliant, especially Jeremy, Joe and Julie, just to mention a few.
