This Review Score of 9.275 is made up of a Quality Score of 4.543 Points (maximum of 5) relating to the rating and a Quantity Score of 4.732 Points (maximum of 5) relating to the number of positive Reviews/Recommendations.

  • The maximum Review Score for a care home / service is 10 and it is based on the published (including Restricted Publication) Reviews in the last 2 years. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

The Review Score of 9.275 for Marbury House is based on 15 Reviews/Recommendations in the last 2 years.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.543 for Marbury House is calculated as follows: ( (100 Excellents x 5) + (53 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 164 Ratings = 4.543

    • Quantity Score: 5 Points are available for the number of 'Positive Reviews' for a care home / service. A Positive Review is defined as:

      • Any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this care provider to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 4.732 for Marbury House is calculated as follows:

      1. 15 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 15 Positive Reviews = 1.500 (maximum score = 1)

      3. (15 Positive Reviews ÷ 41 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.732

  • The Review Score is based on user Recommendations/Reviews submitted in the last 2 years. The maximum Review Score is 10. There are 5 Points available for the average of all ratings on users Recommendations/Reviews (Excellent 5, Good 4, Satisfactory 3, Poor 2, Very Poor 1). The building is extremely secure. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The staff are always aware of any medical needs, taking tests and informing the doctor when necessary.
The room is always cleaned to a high standard.
It is sometimes disappointing that there are not enough seats in the dining room.
The food is usually excellent but on occasions when having to eat in your own room the food doesn't seem to be very hot.
Very great care is taken when administering drugs.
There appears to be a shortage of wheelchairs.
I used the hairdressing salon once with the regular hairdresser who was expensive and once with on my own, the salon is lovely. The garden is lovely too. Tai Chi has been a good experience.

Thank you for the kind words and will feedback to all staff including kitchen staff.

I have spent 4 and a half months at Marbury House and i have been very well looked after and considering the loss of my husband on November 27th it certainly has been the place to be under the circumstances thanks to the management and care staff. It seems to me that staff have had a wonderful amount of training as this has been evident to myself day to day. The environment at Marbury House was unfamiliar to myself before my stay however it was soon familiarized by the ongoing happy atmosphere. I would just like to say a very big thank you.

I've been visiting Marbury House for the past 18 months, helping to provide activities/visits each fortnight, staff and management have worked with and supported activities put on and encouraged residents to join in. Residents are enthusiastic to take part and seem happy and relaxed, from what I have seen the standard of care and support is good and there seems a good and homely atmosphere. I enjoy my visits to Marbury House and look forward to continuing to be involved.
