  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 3.523 for Chorley Lodge Residential Care Home is calculated as follows:

      1. 4 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 4 Positive Reviews = 0.400

      3. (4 Positive Reviews ÷ 65 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.123

My mother has been a resident for over 3 years now. I feel confident that her needs are taken care of. Having visited a number of care homes before selecting Chorley Lodge, my brother and I are convinced we made the right choice. The staff are on the whole wonderful and very caring. I visit two or three times a week and quite often witness acts of love to residents from all levels of carers. Quite often, they are unaware of my presence. The management are very approachable. There is a very friendly atmosphere within the home between staff, carers, residents and visitors. The food is of a high standard and the rooms are always clean. Laundry is outstanding.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, we really do value all the feedback we receive. Our team of staff create a welcoming environment, aiming to encourage interaction between the residents and develop friendships within the home. We are pleased to hear that your mother is comfortable at Chorley Lodge and that your family are pleased with the care we provide.

My wife had quite severe Alzheimer's Disease. After caring for her at home for five years her condition deteriorated to the stage that 24 hour care was needed. On admission my wife and family were immediately put at ease and were introduced to her main carer and others who were all friendly and helpful. Until she died in December my wife was very well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were all skilled and knowledgeable. If carers had any problems they passed their worries up the chain of command so that all the staff up to the senior manager were left informed and able to offer help.

Dave Ashbolt, Home Manager at Chorley Lodge Residential Care Home responded to this review on 01 Feb 2016:

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, we really do appreciate the feedback. We are glad that we have been able to support your family and our thoughts are with you all. We are pleased you felt welcomed into Chorley Lodge and that you find the atmosphere of the home to be warm and pleasant. Sincerest condolences from all the team, Dave.

Peace of mind they are being looked after. Rooms are very clean and food very good. Staff very pleasant and friendly. My husband really loves going there better than anywhere he has been before, can't praise them enough.

My mother in law came to stay last year 2014.
We worried about the transition from her home to "home" .
I don't want to lie !
This was hard for the first few weeks but she soon settled with the help of the staff.
Dave the manager is one of our (families) favourites as a great asset, he has helped us in so many ways .....he helped with her settling in period and the many questions we had and concerns.
The staff have been very supportive and we were encouraged to ring every day if needed to get an update on her settling in period .
Nothing has been to much trouble to organise from her own bed and furniture to make her own room homely.
She has already enjoyed over Xmas the many organised events such as singers and children from the local schools visiting.
Would we recommend ?
YES x
Thank you to all at Chorley Lodge from the Robinson's .
