My Mum has been in Penwortham Lodge for over a year now Everything is wonderful at the home. The staff are marvellous with Mum and she has settled in so well. Mum prefers to stay in her room most of the time, but they constantly go and chat to her and tend to her needs. The management and staff are amazing. Mums room is homely and comfortable and kept spotlessly clean and hygienic. Mum's personal care is second to none and the staff are so gentle when dressing or bathing her. My Mum loves to chat to the staff and they always keep her smiling. When Mum is not feeling too well, the staff make sure the doctor visits as soon as possible. All her needs are tended to and I cannot think of anything negative to say about the care she receives. The management and staff are so friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. I consider this be the best care home in the area.

The Orchard care homes are well designed with wide corridors and doorways, particularly good for people in wheelchairs. The rooms are spacious and well furnished with good en-suite facilities. Every room has its own TV and DVD player plus a small fridge. The food is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. My only negative comment is the policy of not being able to pre-book respite care more than a week in advance, making it very difficult for carers to take advantage of the respite for eg booking holidays.
