The Review Score of 8.429 for Queens Care Centre is based on 5 Reviews/Recommendations in the last 2 years.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.78 for Queens Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (47 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.78

      • Any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this care provider to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 3.649 for Queens Care Centre is calculated as follows:

      1. 5 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 5 Positive Reviews = 0.500

      3. (5 Positive Reviews ÷ 67 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.149

My Mother became a resident at Queens Care Centre in August 2015. Since that time, we have found both the management and the staff to be extremely helpful and supportive, and willing to go the extra mile. Mother enjoys companionship, a varied and balanced diet, with many wonderful activities to enjoy and help keep her stimulated. The Centre has offered us peace of mind to know that our Mother is well cared for in every way, and that she is safe and secure there. She is gently encouraged to try new things as she continues to settle into her new home. Photos and short video clips posted to Facebook has been a life line for us, with me not residing in the UK at present.

Our mother has been a resident of the Queens Care Centre for the past year. She has benefited greatly from the exceptional supports, programs, care and attention that meet the majority of her physical and mental well-being needs. Our family have encountered professional, trained, kind and caring staff who have guided our mother and family through the past year of transition above and beyond anything we had really imagined.
We have been very blessed as a family and based on our experiences, I have no hesitation in highly recommending the Queens Care Home. We cannot visit our Mom as regularly as we would like, however are kept constantly updated on her progress and the many ways she is able to live life with dignity, engagement, community and caring support.
I have not visited many other care homes in the UK to appropriately compare the Queens with other homes, however am very pleased to recommend the centre based on my family's knowledge. Thank you everyone at the Queens!

I have spent several hours at Queen's Care and have seen first hand the effort made by the staff to care for those staying in the home. I am very grateful for all that they do for these dear people. The management and staff go beyond doing just what the job requires to meet the personal needs of each individual. The home is also very responsive and works with the family and those concerned too.

My mother first went into the Queens Care Centre in July of last year during that time she could barely walk and needed a Zimmer frame to get about, within a few short weeks of being there her frame was no longer needed and my mum was walking about quite easily and began to socialise a great deal with all the staff and residents.
My mum is almost 80yrs of age she suffers from vascular dementia and other age related problems but now thanks to the care she is getting it is like she has been given a new lease of life!...I am eternally grateful to all the wonderful staff that work there as they are always very professional and caring in their work and having my mum placed in the Queens Care Centre has taken away a great deal of stress and heartache for me and her family knowing she is safe and looked after properly 24/7.

My mother has spent almost a year at 'The Queens', this is more than residential, it is a family, a very professional family, run home with strong values, more than care and no matter what is thrown at them, their experience to deal shines through - having spent many years in care of the elderly, day centres, hospitals, MOWs, I know. I would tell anyone 'go ahead your family is fortunate if they are at The Queens'.
