The Oaks Care Centre provides quality care for 112 adults with organic brain disease (dementia), challenging behaviour and complex physical needs. Individuals and their advocates, family and friends are encouraged to personalise individual rooms. The Home is divided into six seperate units over two stories and benefits from an on-site laundry facility, catering and extensive garden areas. Resident choice is paramount and residents are actively encouraged to make informed choices and maintain independence. A named nurse is assigned to each resident ensuring a holistic approach to individual care and daily fulfilment. The Activities Co-ordinators organise a wide range of daily group activities both in and out of the home, which are planned in conjunction with the wishes of the residents. Residents are encouraged to pursue and retain their own interests. One-to-one support is provided where required and all activities are arranged to meet the residents’ individual needs. |
