My father spent the last few weeks of his long life here.(102 yrs.) He was happy and well looked after, and when the end was near they said he could stay with them instead of going into the hospital, which was a great comfort to the family.

My Mother, now 87, required 24 hr care following a stroke in 2002 suffering a broken hip and leaving her immobile and doubly incontinent. My Father tried to care for her at home but was physically unable so we were pleased to find a local care home which could provide qualified nursing skills and medication. As my mother has declined with age into dementia it has been a comfort for my Father and her 3 children to witness the care and attention she has received over the years. We visit often and have always been pleased when she has been participating in the various events and outings which the home regularly arrange. What always amazes me is the friendliness of all the management and staff even when they are under pressure. I truly hope that they are recognised, appreciated and rewarded in whatever ways are possible in these difficult times. The Carer/Resident relationship is so important to the health and well being of these people as the reach the end of their life and I feel confident that my mother is in the very best place especially when we go for a sherry in their very own Swan Pub and we sing along to the records.

It is always difficult giving a review of any facility without having another to compare it with but my Uncle, who is 94, is very happy at Franklin House and is well looked after by all the staff as far as I am aware without being patronised, which sometimes happens with older people.

My aunt lives in the above home and is treated well, with respect and compassion. She is not the easiest person to deal with, but the staff do very well.

My mother was assessed by the London Borough of Hillingdon Social services and placed in Franklin House in December 2011 for 12 months until her death in 2012. It was always a happy environment, staff always friendly and helpful, caring and food very good. Room homely. Plenty of activities for the residents. Mum was happy there. Thanks.

My mother is always well cared for. There is a good communication between the home and her family. Activities are done every day which keeps her active and the activities co-ordinator has recently turned a disused room into a 'pub' where residents and families have somewhere to sit and reminisce. A good home.

Mum has been resident for almost 8 years and will be 90 in February. She is well looked after and all the staff should be complemented in their work. The current manager is very efficient and always there to listen. Every little request is dealt with promptly and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff.

My husband has been in Franklin House for 18 months now. He settled much better than I expected, which tells me he is treated well. The staff are kind and caring and really friendly with the residents without being patronising. Any problem that might arise is sorted out immediately. In short the residents are well cared for and their dignity is important. The entertainment manager (Lola) is wonderful and makes sure the residents are happy with various events to occupy them. I would feel much happier if my husband was showered, hair washed and shaved every day. I appreciate that staff are very busy and have many residents to get up in the morning. To me my husband’s personal hygiene is very important to me. It makes for a good reflection on the home to see him well groomed. I am not for a minute suggesting that others do not.

I was very worried about putting my mum into a care home, as you hear so many horror stories. So I looked at a few that were suited to mums needs and chose Franklin House. I could not have chosen better. The staff are kind, friendly, helpful and great towards the patient, nothing is too much trouble. You are kept well informed on your relatives, they are well looked after. I could not have chosen better. Thank you.

My mother has been a temporary resident (and still is) of Franklin House for a while and I am extremely happy and satisfied with the care and kindness the staff show to my mum. She is encouraged to join in the activities but prefers to stay in her room and her wishes are respected. I would recommend Franklin House to anyone.

The atmosphere in Franklin House is very informal and friendly. The staff are very helpful and I would rate the general care of residents at approx 7 out of 10 depending on staff on duty. Nursing/clinical care is good 8 out of 10. I know that my mother is safe, cared for and reasonably happy at Franklin House.

Review of Franklin House, West Drayton, London by Jane Edwards (neice of recent resident)
Tuesday 21 August 2012
I felt I must write to say thank you for the outstanding care my aunt received during a recent stay of 6 weeks in Franklin House West Drayton. As soon as we met the staff we were immediately impressed by their professional and friendly approach, all our questions were answered. My aunt aged 90 had a very severe fall at home and needed particularly expert care. She was treated with dignity, respect and cheerfulness. The general ethos of the managers and all the staff is positive and enables patients to feel comfortable. When we visited every single member of staff spoke even if just passing in the corridor. This is rare in our experience and we feel that they all deserve recognition for their hard work and commitment to high standard of care especially the Physio's and Occupational Therapist. We would be pleased to recommend Franklin House to anyone looking for quality care for a loved one. Jane Edwards.
