The Review Score of 9.508 for Sundridge Court Care Home with Nursing is based on 22 Reviews/Recommendations in the last 2 years.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. (Please note that the ratings of Very Poor and Poor have only been available since the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015.)

      The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.508 for Sundridge Court Care Home with Nursing is calculated as follows: ( (143 Excellents x 5) + (94 Goods x 4) + (15 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 252 Ratings = 4.508

    • Quantity Score: 5 Points are available for the number of 'Positive Reviews' for a care home / service. A Positive Review is defined as:

      • Any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this care provider to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

      • Any Recommendation. Before the change from Recommendations to Reviews on 7th July 2015 all feedback was limited to Recommendations (ie positive comments only)

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

      1. 3 points for receiving the first Positive Review.

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 5 for Sundridge Court Care Home with Nursing is calculated as follows:

      1. 22 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 22 Positive Reviews = 2.200 (maximum score = 1)

      3. (22 Positive Reviews ÷ 28 Registered Beds) x 2 = 1.571 (maximum score = 1)

  • The Review Score is based on user Recommendations/Reviews submitted in the last 2 years. The maximum Review Score is 10. There are 5 Points available for the average of all ratings on users Recommendations/Reviews (Excellent 5, Good 4, Satisfactory 3, Poor 2, Very Poor 1). I'm filling this form in for my sister who lives at Sundridge Court, unfortunately she cannot fill in this as she cannot write or speak or move so she has to have everything done for her. She is well cared for and seems very happy as much as she can be. I am very happy with the quality of care which she receives here, the staff work very hard and are all very pleasant and so are management staff.

My Nan's room is quite basic but comfy and clean. They offered her a bigger room but she likes to be near the front door so she can see life.
The staff are very friendly. There is very good security to the home. All together a very positive experience.

If I had to select a home for my on mum then I would chose here. It is warm, friendly with a happy atmosphere. It always feels happy and you can see the people there are treated with care and respect.

No one ever things that they will have to make this decision. It is a clean well presented home that you can see has a very dedicated team. It is nice to see that people are really cared for. I go in and help at events there - as my wife runs it.

They looked after my father for almost 2 years until his death. The staff always treated him with patience, good humor and skill. The rooms are quite spacious, light and well appointed and the overall atmosphere of the home is friendly and welcoming to both residents and their families. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities and there are many entertainments organised for them by dedicated staff. Our family consider ourselves very lucky that my father spent his final years with them.

Carol Marsh

Job Title: Home Manager

Description:

I am passionate about providing high quality care. My aim is to offer the highest quality of care in the area, within a loving home that listens to the views and ideas of the people who live here. It’s all about the people that we look after and their families.

I trained at a Nightingale School of Nursing and have been qualified since 1980. I worked in the NHS after I qualified until 1995, at which point I moved into private Nursing homes. I have worked in some very high standard homes, and achieved an “Outstanding” from the CQC in the category of “Well Led” for my first Home Manager role.

As the Home Manager, I am here to ensure that the home meets the high standards of Caring Homes, as well as those required by the registration authority and the Care Quality Commission. I’m here to provide a safe, caring, responsive and effective home that is well led.

My biggest career achievements so far include
winning a Management Award and being recognised for outstanding leadership by the CQC in my first post. My skills and knowledge are two things that I bring to my role as Home Manager, and my passion for nursing is another.

I have lived in Bromley for six years and love being so close to London, it enables me to enjoy going to the theatre which is one of my loves. I also enjoy going to the movies, socialising with friends, travelling, and being around animals.

I chose to come to Caring Homes because I share the organisation’s ethos and feel strongly about providing high standards of care and support. When I met Helena Jefferies, cofounder of Caring Homes, I was pleased to find that shared the same passion for nursing and care.
