Our Home Manager Sian Davies is qualified as a RMN / RGN giving her the understanding required to care for clients with general health and medical problems as well as dementia. Sian’s background equips her ideally for the role of manager at Dormy House. Dormy House is an impressive property, which was built in the 1930’s as a private family residence. The House was converted into a care home a number of years ago, and was purchased by Caring Homes in 2003 after which time it underwent a significant remodelling and refurbishment programme which has transformed the home into a care home of distinction. Today Dormy House is regarded as one of the finest care homes in the area, resulting in it achieving a number of accolades including gaining accreditation to the ISO9000 standard and the Hospitality Assured Standard, these achievements have been earned through a strong focus and high standards in customer service. The focus on guest services are more akin to an hotel than a traditional care home, and include room service facilities, a varied menu with restaurant style cuisine prepared on site by our qualified chefs, wine is available with meals and our experienced staff team are more than happy to deliver post to guests bedrooms, organise taxi’s, dry cleaning etc. Dormy House is not a typical care home it offers extremely high standards in accommodation with a number of individually decorated and furnished, well appointed en-suite rooms and suites. The accommodation is laid out over 3 floors with a passenger lift making all areas of the home accessible. On the ground floor there is a most attractive day room, with large feature windows overlooking a small private garden. Just off the day room is a spacious dining room that leads out onto a secluded and sheltered terrace area, where residents can take meals in finer weather. Our dedicated dementia unit is located in a single storey extension to the main house known as the Surrey Wing. The Surrey Wing is a small self-contained dementia unit, providing single en-suite bedrooms, which are individually decorated to a high standard. In addition the Surrey Wing also has an attractive day room, dining room and hairdressing room. Dormy House offers extremely adaptable long and short-term care packages, and through its flexible registration is able to provide care and support to people with changing needs. If you are looking for a care home that can offer assurances through excellent inspection reports and high standards in care and accommodation, please contact our home manager Sian Davies to arrange a viewing. |
