Review of Barchester Chalfont Lodge Care Centre

The improvement in my wife's health and well-being since she was moved to Chalfont Lodge 14 months ago after eight months in the hospital's spinal injuries unit has been significant. She really enjoys the setting and in warmer weather often sits out in the garden. Regular communal activities keep her mentally stimulated and she is very happy.

Since my mother came to Chalfont Lodge she is a lot happier and healthier compared to her last care home. She is clean and treated with the dignity she deserves. The staff are amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home.

Review of Barchester Chalfont Lodge Care Centre

My wife quickly accepted that Chalfont Lodge was home after spending 8 months in the acute ward of the spinal injuries centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The improvement in her general health following this transfer was marked and has been maintained ever since (now almost 1 1/2 years) and she is very happy in this setting. The level of care is as good as it gets and neither of us could wish for anything better in terms of nursing care and general welfare.

Review of Barchester Chalfont Lodge Care Centre

Having to put your relatively young wife in a care home due to the early onset dementia is almost like bereavement. However, I now look forward to visiting my wife - quality time, walks, brilliant coffee and cookies - lovely scenery. The most wonderful thing is to know that your very vulnerable wife is well looked after and staff genuinely have a rapport with their patient. I visit my wife every day and can honestly say that she is so happy in her new home for the past 4 months. The staff in St Andrews need a medal - I never realised that a care home would be this compassionate.

Review of Barchester Chalfont Lodge Care Centre

My mother has been at Chalfont Lodge for a month. My Mother is very happy here and has settled in very quickly. The dementia care is excellent, as are the carers who are very professional and kind. As a family we have had several other experiences of care homes over the last year, for respite care and the standards at Chalfont Lodge are outstanding compared to our previous experiences. Unfortunately we are no longer able to cope with my mother's care needs at home and have placed her in permanent care at Chalfont lodge. We are so pleased with the care she is getting here and are absolutely confident all of her needs are being met. It's a second home for my father who spends many happy hours with my mother in the care home and enjoying walks in the well kept grounds.
