The Review Score of 9.076 for Denham Manor Care Home with Nursing is based on 12 Reviews/Recommendations in the last 2 years.

  • The Review Score (maximum of 10) is made up of a Quality Score (maximum of 5) and Quantity Score (maximum of 5):

    • Quality Score: 5 Points are available for the average rating. For each review the care home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The care home / service receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating. The Quality Score (average rating) of 4.531 for Denham Manor Care Home with Nursing is calculated as follows: ( (83 Excellents x 5) + (53 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 143 Ratings = 4.531

      2. 0.1 Point per Positive Review, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. (ie a care home / service requires 10 Positive Reviews to receive the maximum score of 1 point.)

      3. (Number of Positive Reviews ÷ number of registered beds) x 2, up to a maximum score of 1 Point. ie a care home / service has to receive a number of Positive Reviews equal to half of the number of registered beds to obtain the maximum score of 1 point. eg a care home / service with 40 registered beds has to receive 20 Positive Reviews to obtain the maximum score of 1 point.

(For Adult Day Care Centres and Extra Care Housing which do not have a registered number of beds, 1) and 2) are replaced by the formula of 0.2 points per Review, up to a maximum score of 2 points. ie a listing needs 10 Reviews to receive the maximum score of 2 points

The Quantity Score of 4.545 for Denham Manor Care Home with Nursing is calculated as follows:

      1. 12 Positive Reviews = 3

      2. 0.1 x 12 Positive Reviews = 1.200 (maximum score = 1)

      3. (12 Positive Reviews ÷ 44 Registered Beds) x 2 = 0.545

Mum has been here since 7th december 15. I am so happy with the care she receives, the staff are very caring, professional and they genuinely care about my mum. She likes being here and told me that she would never leave here now. I hpe she never has to. Everyone is lovely, helpful and the place has a lovely warm feeling about it.

After a fall resulting in a dislocated shoulder my previously independent 88 year old mother needed urgent care with everyday needs. I was presented with having to find a nursing/care home very urgently(on New Year's Eve!). I contacted Denham Manor , they could not have been more helpful and responded immediately, arranging for an assessment and my mum was admitted the very next day. From the moment she arrived she was treated in a genuinely friendly and caring manner. She was there for six weeks. All the staff were without exception faultless and went the extra mile on many occasions. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

My Mum arrived at Denham Manor in a very poor state of health. Underweight and hardly talking. What a difference the 9 months she has resided here has made. She has put on a stone and never stops talking (albeit rubbish)!!! All the staff are amazing. They take wonderful care of her in a smiling positive way. The food and cleanliness is superb and the atmosphere is a friendly, chatty but professional one. I was really worried about placing my Mum in a home but after experiencing the level of care she has received I would not hesitate to recommend Denham Manor to anyone.

My mother-n-law was admitted to Denham Manor care home for end of life care. During the time she was there I was able to witness care and compassion of the highest quality. Up to the point of her very sad death she was treated with the greatest dignity and respect. The team at Denham were exceptional and I know my dear mother-in-law was happy and content in her last days. Everyone in the home were a delight to meet and demonstrated genuine compassion and care, I felt more like home than a care home. She and we felt perfectly secure and relaxed in her time there. When her body was removed from the home at last fifteen staff literally lined up in respect an amazing tribute.

My auntie was in a terrible state before she came to Denham Manor, what a transformation, she started singing and telling stories about her childhood, her whole demeanour changed. The staff are exceptional. A big thank you to all.

Very happy with the care/nursing mum has received since she became a resident in July 2014. Most of the residents had to be moved to different rooms whilst renovations were being carried out which was done with as little disturbance as possible. Over the last year I have got to know most of the staff quite well and have been made to feel like family which is comforting to know as I know mum is being treated as family also. My only concern is that some of the familiar faces have gone and having made some enquiries it seems they have left to go to other care homes where they can earn more which to me seems a shame to lose excellent carers due to poor pay.

Jayne Muir, Home Manager at Denham Manor Care Home with Nursing responded to this review on 25 Aug 2015:

Thank you for taking the time to review Denham Manor, we really appreciate your feedback. At Denham Manor we take great pride in ensuring we deliver high quality care and facilities. We regularly run recruitment campaigns to build our care team thus, ensuring they are able to provide person centred care and spend valuable time with our residents. We welcome the opportunity to improve, and hope you will continue to share your thoughts with us in the home in future.

My mother has been a resident at Denham Manor for 2 and a half years now, also my father before he passed away last year. During this time I have had no reason to complain about anything. All the staff are very caring and the nursing care is also good. Lovely nurses, nice the residents see the same faces. The home is run by and an excellent manager, her door is always open so you can talk to her at anytime. The refurbishment at the home recently is very nice and along with the beautiful gardens makes Denham Manor a nice place to live. I would recommend it to anymore.

Each time we visit the home we are made welcome, offered refreshments and find the staff, nurses and carers very friendly and show concern and consideration towards our aunt. We are most grateful for their help and care as we are unable to visit on a regular basis and rely 100% on their services.

Very good welcome and help settling into the home. Carers in general are very kind and caring. Nursing care and concern is very good. Refurbishment being undertaken during the first few weeks but did not cause any concerns.
