Stonehouse is a magnificent country house, formally the home of Lord Baden Powell. It is set in 6 acres of delightful gardens with a terrace and conservatory. The house was built in 1862 and has been tastefully converted into a Care Home with Nursing for 28 older people, including those with dementia. The grand entrance hall with elegant staircase opens into the main drawing room but most of the residents choose to sit in the bright and friendly conservatory overlooking the garden and the Chilton Hills. Most of the rooms are single ensuite, tastefully furnished with TV’s and BT points. A range of activities are organised and the atmosphere of the home is friendly, comfortable yet professional. Stonehouse has been awarded the Investors in People Accreditation and has the top CSCI star rating of 3 stars “Excellent”. Staff are trained to a very high standard, with NVQ levels 2,3 and 4 in Care and Management. We pride ourselves in offering that little bit extra as all our staff also receive training in Customer Care and Hospitality. |
