For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

The 3.783 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ranvilles Nursing Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.5

My mother was a resident at Ranvills for about 3 years suffering from Dementia. Her treatment and care was wonderful. She was treated with dignity and great care and love. We the family were most impressed with the care she received and thank the staff for it.

I visit almost every day and feed my wife with her lunch. Over the last sixteen months I have never had any regrets about my decision to place her with Ranvilles, they provide an excellent service under some very difficult circumstances.

I would urge anyone going to view Ranvilles to ignore the slightly shabby furniture and to sit, watch and listen for 10 minutes or so. You will see and hear real care in action along with a miriad of cleaning staff passing through, you will not smell the sometimes all to familiar odours of a care home. All residents are treated with the utmost care, dignity and respect no matter how severe the stage of dementia. You will receive greetings from all who pass by along with offers of cups of tea. Sadly my father passed away after only a month. The final stage of his life could not have been dealt with better, all staff would use his name at all times and explain to him what they were doing and why and he was dealt with in a kind and very gentle manner. In his final few days I stayed in his room with him, I was given a mattress to lie on and was kept supplied with a constant flow of tea, food and support 24/7. The kindness of the staff is beyond compare and I thank them all
