CONCERNS; GOOD THINGS; OTHER COMMENTS;
There are no concerns with this care home at the present time; I have spoken to several of the patient’s representatives and they cannot find fault with the home or the running of it. Money is not expended on lavish brochures; it’s put to use where it matters in the care home.
On the day my Mum arrived at Springfield, she thought it was just like home but with added comforts such as variety of food laundry all carried out housekeeping as well as a very homely atmosphere, plenty of guests to speak and converse with activities to do on a daily basis, residential nursing staff, physiotherapist, a visiting hairdresser and chiropodist. A good sized, well maintained garden to admire and to sit out [weather permitting]. Meetings between patient’s representatives and the home are regularly organised, monitored and comments implemented where appropriate.
Since my Mum entered Springfield, family peace of mind has ensued, I know she has enjoyed the following: - regular medical checks, medication are regularly dispensed; a plentiful home cooked varied menu is provided, ensuring that food is consumed rather than ‘not bothering as it’s too much trouble’. At all times the guests are treated with dignity and respect, mixed with humour that makes it a home rather than a place for elderly to gloat over the prospect of their futurity. Communications between the home and the patient’s representatives are excellent. There are no restrictions on visiting whatsoever, in fact relatives are positively encouraged to visit and take part in any activities including partaking of meals when one is provided FOC .
In fact this care home can be summarized in three words:-
Caring; Circumspect; Compassionate.
Overall Standard: Excellent
Care / Support: Excellent
Treated with Dignity: Excellent
Food & Drink: Excellent
Safety / Security: Excellent
Value for Money: Excellent
