Review of Field House Nursing Home, Harpenden, Hertfordshire by Simone Waller (Daughter of resident)
Monday 29 October 2012
When my father came to field house we had been told that he had perhaps a few weeks to live. I can only echo the previous recommendation and hope that it helps anyone facing the daunting task of choosing a home for a relative. They were, for the four remaining weeks that he lived, beyond amazing. The consideration, standard of care and respect bestowed on both my dad and all the family was above and beyond the call of duty. I cannot praise the staff and management enough. We were welcomed, throughout his time there, as though it were our own home, I cannot stress enough how much easier the whole situation was made by the respect and kindness shown to both my dad and our family. We know that it is important to live well, but it is also a great comfort to all those concerned, to die well, and field house ensured my father had the opportunity to do both, and for that I am eternally grateful. I would encourage anyone who is struggling to make the difficult decision to choose the right nursing home for someone they love, to, if they find field house, stop looking any further. It is truly a home from home where you can rest assured that your loved one will be given all they need and more. They also make the most fabulous afternoon cakes!

Review of Field House Nursing Home, Harpenden, Hertfordshire by Adrianne C (Relative of Resident)
Friday 10 September 2010
If Field House had a mission statement over the front door it would be `That is not a problem`. I have heard this response from staff so many times in the 5 years my husband has been a resident that I begin to believe they can perform miracles, or at least they will try. It is an attitude of mind that percolates from the Managers` office to the kitchen and up to the administrators office, via the maintenance manager!
